You're on FIRE when Uranus in Gemini forms a sextile to Neptune in Aries on August 28th. Neptune in Aries is vision – something that uplifts or influences. This could be a person, a brand, or an ideology; something that people want to sign on for because it gets them excited – like a Rock Concert or a Black Friday sale. Saturn and Uranus are co-rulers of the zodiac sign Aquarius. Both planets are connected to time. Saturn rules over the time that's passed and Uranus rules over the time that's yet to be. Theirs is an adversarial relationship exemplified in the difference between something being ahead of its time and something that's time has come. This is a timing problem that all Aquarians are intimately familiar with – if you're too ahead of your time then your ideas are so avant-garde that most people can't make sense of what you're talking about but if your time has come, then the things you say are so on point that light bulbs go off over everyone's heads as they nod in excited recognition. On August 11th, Saturn and Uranus form an extremely rare sextile. A sextile is one of Astrology's most propitious aspects because it allows two planets to converse in ways they couldn't have otherwise. Instead of doubts and foot-dragging, Saturn brings commitment and industry and instead of revolution and chaos, Uranus brings insight and invention. The Saturn/Uranus sextile makes this the perfect time to launch your most ambitious project or impossible endeavor because it will take wing and soar. Indeed the more farfetched your concept; the better.

You’re going to have to find a way to coordinate efforts as long as Mars is traveling through the zodiac sign of the Scales. That’s because there’s no such thing as going it alone when the planet of gumption and drive is passing through the realm of Venus. Cooperation and collaboration are the means to your ends. This means that you will have to learn when to yield the field, to find a place where conflicting needs dovetail, and to even share the credit with those who don’t deserve it. Politesse is an ill-fitting suit for the red tempered planet, but there’s no denying that this passage through Libra will improve your manners and your appeal. On August 1st Venus in Cancer will form a square to Neptune and Saturn in Aries. This is one of Astrology's “can't do anything right” squares because the contradictory planetary energies are hopelessly entangled. They can't resolve their difference any more than they can leave things alone. Venus in Cancer is deeply sensitive and wants to help while Neptune and Saturn in Aries is solidly stoic and would rather sleep on a bed of nails than admit to any weakness or vulnerability. When these energies square then feelings on both sides can't help but be hurt. A watery Venus, sensing hidden conflicting emotions, will always reach out and a Neptune/Saturn energy, confronted by someone's concern, will always back away because they don't want to be smothered. You can expect accusations of “You hurt my feelings” and “Stop mothering me!” to fly like lunch trays in a high school cafeteria food fight. The best thing to do with a square like this is to let the feelings work themselves out. If this is a work association then maintaining a professional distance may be best for the next couple of weeks and if it's a more intimate relationship? Planets in opposition don't regard themselves as sharing anything in common. They're absolutely convinced that the other one is so alien, backwards, or sinister that they want nothing to do with each other. This might have resulted in a “you stay on your side of the street and I'll stay on mine” separatism, except that this opposition involves the Sun and Pluto. Pluto, named after the Roman god of the Underworld, tends to play upon deep-rooted anxieties. This can drive us to project our fears on to others without a moment's pause or second thought. What makes it worse is that the more we blame others for stoking our fear, the more fearful we become – like an itch that grows inflamed with every scratch. It's a good idea to ask yourself during a transit like this how much of these fears and suspicions have to do with the other person versus how much they have to do with you because the only way you'll find peace of mind is to take back that projection; otherwise you're in danger of becoming the author of your own self-fulfilling prophecy.

It’s a good idea to apply Murphy’s Law to anything you do while Mercury is retrograde. Mercury will be retrograde from July 18th through August 11th. Murphy’s Law is the assumption that if anything can go wrong it will, but this isn’t as self-defeating as it sounds. It actually makes good sense because it gets you to map out your contingency plans ahead of time. Mercury retrograde will feel like a cosmic monkey wrench has been thrown into the smooth operations of your day-to-day life and it will be the things that you take for granted that will cause you the most aggravation now. This is why you will want to make sure that your car is in top shape, that meetings will be taking place as planned, and that you put the decimal point in the right place when making a Venmo payment or you could wind up paying more than you owe. You might also consider adding two weeks to any pressing deadline because there’s bound to be a last minute complication or unexpected delay.

Uranus enters the zodiac sign of the twins on July 7th. This is bound to turn your life upside down and inside out given the Uranus's reputation for revolution and change. Often out of step with the rest of the planetary pantheon, Uranus is the only planet in our solar system to orbit the Sun rotating on its side. In other words, its north and south poles are where everyone else's equators are. Add to the fact that Uranus has rings and the planet appears like a great wheel in the sky that keeps on turning. This incessant turning is what moves things in your life from the top to the bottom and from the bottom to the top again. It may even feel at times like you've come full circle regarding a relationship or situation. Although disruptive and unpredictable, there's also no denying how invigorating and enlightening Uranus can be. Neptune is the planet of hope. Maybe you're hoping that someone you're in love with will love you back; perhaps you're wishing for a better life or feel like this time a lucky break really will work out. Neptune is the arch nemesis of cynics and skeptics. That's because they were dreamers once but never got over the disappointment of their bubbles being burst which is why they're driven to burst the bubbles of others. Hope can be uplifting but hope can also be deceptively cruel. On June 30th Neptune turns retrograde. Now it's true that Neptune retrogrades often bring disillusionment. We're told that disillusionment is bad but it actually frees you from the spell you've been under so that you can get to know that person you're idealizing, inspect that “better life” up close – warts and all – or pick up that lucky break that fell short and do something different with it. Neptune retrograde can become the first step in your creative process if you're willing to lose the myth. Neptune will be retrograde from July 4th to December 10th.

June 24th is probably the luckiest day of the entire year. This is when the Sun will form an exact conjunction to Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and higher purpose, in the zodiac sign of the Crab. If there was ever at time to ask a favor, make a request, plead your case or bet everything on a long shot then this is the day because Jupiter is cazimi. “Cazimi” is an Arabic word that means “in the heart of the Sun” and whenever a planet is this close to the Sun, its strength is magnified so that it becomes positively resplendent. Add to this that Jupiter is exalted (i.e. most celebrated) in Cancer and you can see how special this day will be. In fact we haven't had a Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Cancer since July 20, 2002. So what are you going to do with your special day? Well, you can always put this energy towards advancing your interests if you like, but then again you can play it like the cosmic trump card it is and treat yourself to your own version of “Ferris Bueller's Day Off.”
