Scorpio Weekly Horoscope | April 14th – April 20th 2025
Ruling Planet Mars back in Leo on April 18th restokes that gumption and drive that's been missing for weeks. It's nice to feel that energy again, but things have changed since Mars retrograded out of Leo last January. You donโt have the clout you once had or that sense of stability that made you feel invincible. There was a time when this would have troubled you, but now you're not sure. Do you really want to go through the aggravation of reclaiming something that's no longer yours? Most people would say “skip it”, but you're a Scorpio. You won't go gently into that good night.

It's ironic how continued success tends to lower our sights rather than lift them. The danger of any conventional approach is that it becomes formulaic over time and loses the special element that made it so groundbreaking in the first place. The beauty of the Mercury/Pluto sextile on April 20th is that it combines the innovative genius of Pluto in Aquarius with the self-improvement tendencies of Mercury in Aries to create a desire to make what's good โ better. Instead of abandoning something that's always worked for you, you'll see where there's room for improvement and this will surely rekindle your spirit of invention and excitement.

It's not every day when you're seized by a creative impulse that can be implemented immediately. Usually you're full of questions and doubts about whether it's even feasible. Well, that's a thing of the past as Ruling Planet Mercury conjoins Neptune on April 17th and then sextiles Pluto on April 20th. This transfer of light sets up easy access to your imagination so that you are guided by your mind's eye (or ear) rather than being left on your own to reconstruct something glimpsed in a millisecond. This active partnership is something you can look forward to as a regular collaboration moving forward.

Mars turned retrograde in Leo on December 6, 2024. Not only did it backslide through your sign, it continued backsliding through Cancer as well. By taking us so far out of reach as to make success impossible, a Mars retrograde forces us to question how much we really wanted it in the first place. The past few weeks in limbo have brought things into sharper focus. They encouraged you to rethink your approach so that when the opportunity presents itself again (like it will when Mars reenters Leo on April 18th) you'll be ready to pounce on the prize that should have been yours all along.

The Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius coincides with a Sun/Mars square on April 20th. This is a closing cycle and not a beginning one which means you need to dump what's not working. It's not unlike cleaning out your closet. We begin by wanting to get rid of everything we never wear and wind up only throwing out a shirt and maybe a sock or two. You need to be unsentimental and relentless. This is bound to be emotionally exhausting, but if you apply the gardening rule that cutting back deadwood promotes new growth, then you'll see a tremendous bloom cycle in the coming weeks.

When Ruling Planet Mercury turned retrograde in Aries on March 15th, you were under the impression that everyone was on board with a new enterprise or endeavor. Unfortunately plans quickly went awry. Maybe hidden costs came to the surface, people couldn't agree on a unified approach, or “minor” technicalities wound up exerting a chokehold on your progress. Thankfully Mercury's reentrance into Aries on April 16th signals a do-over for you. Either people will rally to your side in full-throated support or if they don't, you should feel free to start afresh somewhere else. You'll have no problem finding a new taker or an enthusiastic backer.

Sometimes the reason a problem defies our best attempts to solve it is because it's not the right time. Maybe circumstances aren't conducive, your idea is too ahead of the curve, or things have to get worse before they can get better. What makes the Venus/Uranus sextile on April 20th more successful than the previous sextiles on January 26th and April 8th is that both planets are out of retrograde. They'll be working together instead of at cross purposes. Moreover Venus, ruler of the sextile and in Pisces (sign of her exaltation) ensures you'll produce a solution that meets with smiles instead of furrowed brows.

Mars back in Leo on April 18th after a protracted retrograde promises to reinvigorate you. Not are you enthused and focused, but you'll be looking to make up for lost ground. This is wonderful, but keep in mind that life has gone on since your Ruling Planet began its backward motion last December. Moreover some people may have learned to fend for themselves or even get by without you. The biggest mistake you could make is to expect to pick up where you left off. Switch focus from reclaiming what was yours to fitting in and you'll discover there's a place for you after all.

Neptune is the planet of vision and visions are good for lifting our sights and challenging us to imagine a life that's different from the one we're living now. Wanting to be a better version of ourselves is very much a Neptune in Aries ideal and when it trines Mars, the planet of gumption and drive on April 19th, then you'll feel a push to push past self-imposed limits to realize your inner potential. This can be an enormously creative transit as well as an ennobling one. You'll be surprised by how quickly anxieties and insecurities fall away like the Earth when seen from a capsule rocketing into space. But Neptune, planet of vision, can also be delusional. This is what happens when you live in a “bubble” which Neptune rules over. If you surround yourself with people who always agree with you and who encourage you to shut out critics and dissenters then you're in danger of believing only what you want to believe. This can lead you to “circle the wagons” which winds up closing the mind and heart. Be open to those who disagree with you. Visions aren't intransient. If anything, they benefit from having holes poked in them because questions prevail upon you to broaden your horizons and to take into account things you never considered before.
