YOUR YEAR AHEAD: 2025 | Weekly Horoscope | December 30th- January 5th 2025
In 2025, the modern planets—Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto—begin forming sextiles or trines to one another in air and fire signs. This is good news for Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius because you will finally feel like the wind is at your back. The years of being stymied, stalled, and sidelined are over, and you can expect to make the breakthroughs and headway you’ve longed for. However, this accelerant “masculine” energy will also bring its own problems, so you’ll want to guard against manspreading, overreach, and throwing your weight around. This applies to women just as much as it does to men.
For people born under Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces, 2025 will feel like you’re saying goodbye to an old way of life as you prepare to embark on a new path. This will happen a lot more quickly than you expect—especially over the summer—but thankfully, the pace slows down again in the fall, giving you an opportunity to catch your breath and do what you need to bring things up to speed for when the pace picks up again in April 2026.

Neptune and Saturn depart your opposite sign of Pisces on March 30th and May 24th, respectively. This brings to a close the on-again, off-again relationship you’ve been having with a certain someone. If this is a romantic pairing, then you two are free to go your separate ways, and if this pertains to business, then you can dissolve ties amicably. You weren’t built for unsalvageable situations. You firmly believe that any problem can be solved if you work hard enough, but sometimes the best solution is to bring things to an end. It allows you and the other party to start afresh somewhere else.

Mars reenters Leo on April 18th. This is when you’ll make up for time lost in the first quarter of 2025. Furthermore, auspicious aspects involving Neptune in Aries will help restore the confidence and idealism that got derailed. This promises a splendid summer where you will see efforts rewarded and achievements celebrated. In fact, you may even see earlier delays and postponements as having worked in your favor. That said, be careful around July 25th and October 24th. Challenging aspects between the Sun and Pluto could lead to power struggles. You may think your reputation is on the line, but that’s just your pride talking.

Saturn, planet of tests, enters Aries on May 24th for a nearly three-year stay. Usually, this would signal the appearance of some thankless task or heavy burden aimed at thwarting your progress, but a unique alignment of planets over the summer shows that you will feel anything but stymied. If anything, you’ll be motivated and inspired to rise to each and every challenge. It could be said that you’ll grow braver with every obstacle you take on. Your grit, perseverance, and ingenuity will all be heightened during this time, making 2025 the year where you truly come into your own.

You need to do more than just shake on the deal; you need to get it all in writing. It doesn’t matter how much you like the person you’re dealing with, how in sync you are, or even the way you finish each other’s sentences—Venus will still be squaring Uranus in your solar house of finances on December 28th. That could result in a surprise about-face or no-show right when you’re ready to finalize matters. Venus/Uranus squares are famous for broken promises, which is why you want to make sure that you’ve got everything in writing beforehand. Better to be safe than sorry.

It will be hard to believe that a familiar narrative can end differently. As a Pisces, you have an archetypal relationship to the stories in your life, whether they’re romantic quests or trials by fire. The faces may change, but the characters are set, and the outcome is practically predestined. All of this changes when Jupiter in Gemini forms its second square to Saturn in Pisces on December 24th. This may be when something that was heading towards the brink suddenly changes direction. This could herald a break in a behavior pattern that you’ve been hoping for, but what happens next is up to you.

A creative process isn’t all ebb and flow. Sometimes it’s slow, tedious, and meandering. The most frustrating thing about a creative process is that it doesn’t always produce results. That’s why so many people opt out. And this may be where you find yourself this week—exhausted and discouraged with nothing to show for it. You may feel like abandoning a project altogether, but don’t. Creativity, like growth, takes place in the dark. Find something else to busy yourself with for the next couple of weeks, and when you come back, you’ll discover something pushing up through the soil on January 13th.

You and a partner have been deadlocked for months with neither of you budging an inch. You had hoped this person would eventually yield, leave, or even try to get back together again, but unfortunately, they’re just as likely to postpone the inevitable as you. What’s needed is a third party to broker an exit plan that both of you find agreeable, and with Ruling Planet Mercury opposite Jupiter on December 26th, this is the time to secure this person’s services. Obviously, nothing can be done during the holidays, but once into the new year, you’ll see a standoff quickly move towards an acceptable outcome.

Getting people to think differently about the things they do every day is challenging. Habit forms a staunch resistance, and comfort zones aren’t easily abdicated. Nevertheless, that’s something you’re going to have to do if you want to bring about the changes you envision. Whether it’s changing your family’s diet or introducing a new policy at work, you’ll need to switch back and forth between the carrot and the stick and can expect some pushback in the process. Rest assured they’ll come around eventually because they recognize it’s for their own good. It’s just that they need to give somebody grief before they sign on.

It takes a while to see that change is good. Intellectually, you accept that it’s true, but as a Capricorn, you can’t help but see change as something to be managed—like an added responsibility or an unforeseen problem. The Jupiter/Saturn square on December 24th is going to be more enlightening than challenging. Instead of doubling down on the way you’ve always done things in the past, it looks like you’re opening up to new ideas and perspectives. Moreover, you’re playing with these notions rather than filing them away in a “read later” folder. The result is a fresh approach to things in the new year.

Venus/Uranus squares (like the one on December 28th) are famous for unexpected flips and giving people who are mean-spirited a dose of their own medicine. They may be exposed, toppled from power, or made victims of their own self-undoing. Uranus, the planet of revolution and change, is also the planet of revelation. Should you find yourself lording over someone who once lorded over you, then you need to ask: what makes you any different now that you have the upper hand? To retaliate means more of the same, whereas focusing on rehabilitating this person brings true liberation and ensures that history stops repeating itself.
