Libra Weekly Horoscope | January 8th – 14th, 2024
Is a dispute really coming to an end or are you sick and tired and ready to move on? The answer is both. Whether it’s coincidence or timing, the Sun/Uranus trine on January 9th shows the wayward pieces coming together to form a resolution you can live with. And it’s a good thing too because with Pluto poised to enter Aquarius on January 20th, you’re in no mood to continue going through the motions of caring about something you just don’t care about anymore. Obviously things won’t be settled as quickly as you’d like, but they will be soon so be patient a little longer.

They say that hope springs eternal, but reality does not. There’s only so much disappointment one can take and with Mercury forming a third square to Neptune on January 8th it looks like you’re being fed the same false promises. What makes it worse is that a seller, client, or lover is earnest in wanting things to work out this time, but circumstances say otherwise. This person simply can’t make the changes that need to be made which means it’s up to you to call it off. It’s something you’re loathe to do but it’s better than a repeat performance of the last two weeks.

The Sun/Uranus aspect on January 9th is what’s called a “closing trine” in Astrology. It’s favorable for sealing a deal, closing a sale, or finalizing an agreement. All assurances are essentially “set in stone” when planets like these form a trine in earth signs. This promises peace of mind, but being an Aquarius you should also not be surprised by an unexpected invite or offer following on its heels. It’s not something you can act on now – it’s too early to tell what sort of future it promises – but it’s certainly worth considering. Keep communication channels open as developments unfold over the next few months.

It may feel like you’re getting a late start with the New Moon appearing in the third decan of Capricorn on January 11th. So late in fact, that you may consider skipping the endeavor all together. Rethink it! This New Moon trines Uranus, planet of revolution and change, thereby redirecting its unpredictable energy so that it works for you rather than against. In other words it may be rivals who experience surprise upsets, squander their leads, or are unceremoniously disqualified. Uranus has a funny way of reshaping the playing field when it’s in your corner as you’ll see for yourself in the weeks to come.

There’s a difference between pushing and asserting. Pushing is more confrontational while asserting yourself simply means stepping up to the plate. This may take some people by surprise when you decide to do just that on January 9th, but once you do, nobody will challenge it. Why? Because of a robust trine between the Sun in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. Earth sign energy is more low-key about getting its way than fire sign energy because it never overreaches. The fact that an opportunity has your name on it or that you’re well-suited for the job on offer means everyone will accept it as yours.

You need to yield. Whatever your motive for pursuing a course of action that’s raised a lot of eyebrows, it’s clearly not working out the way you planned. Indeed with Ruling Planet Mercury forming its third and final square to Neptune (the previous squares were on November 27th and December 27th), you’re in danger of losing more than what you initially risked. One’s footing is always weakest when one’s Ruling Planet is transiting their opposite zodiac sign. Thankfully Mercury re-enters Capricorn on January 13th. Mercury in the sign of the goat is an old hand at cutting losses while putting a good face on it.

Your hard work and perseverance pays off this week when Mars forms a trine to Jupiter on January 12th. This could result in a bonus, raise, or even a promotion. Hopefully it will materialize on its own, but if not then you may want to sit down with an employer to discuss matters. One should always be recognized for a job well done and in a perfect world you would be, but sometimes you have to remind the higher-ups not to take you for granted. You’ve proven yourself to be invaluable which makes this planetary trine between earth signs an auspicious time to be compensated.

Not all obstacles require our blood, sweat, and tears. Sometimes the best approach is to take things one step at a time instead of a headfirst tackle. This is something that will become abundantly clear as Ruling Planet Mars forms propitious aspects to Saturn and Jupiter on January 9th and 12th. Not only will you discover ways to work with an impossible situation, but this could inspire you to be more resourceful than you would have normally been. Ironically it’s limitations, rather than sweeping possibilities, that foster one’s creative process and ingenuity. You may even wind up treating this headache like a font of inspiration.

Mars in Capricorn is always a good time to push for what you want; however you don’t want to be high-handed or it will come back to haunt you. Named after the Roman god of war and conquest, Mars often plants the seeds for future retaliation if it’s not managed properly so take time to work out a way for both sides to benefit before making your request. Mars’s sextile to Saturn in Pisces on January 9th followed by a trine to Jupiter in Taurus on January 12th shows your proposal for a win-win situation receiving a warm welcome from those who’d normally be reluctant.

Aries people are said to be rash and impulsive because they were born under Mars, but this isn’t always the case. There’s nothing reckless about a star athlete’s performance or slipshod about a first responder’s crisis training. Both professions are ruled by Mars and demand supreme focus along with an ability to keep calm under pressure. Mars in Capricorn this week invites you to take a similar disciplined approach to an opportunity that requires your commitment and patience. Should you decide to sign on for this endeavor – which will demand a lot – then the rewards and returns will be greater than you can imagine.
