About the 2nd House
The Sun sits in the Second House immediately before dawn. So, in a sense, the Sun “emerges” from the underworld in the Second House.
What else comes out of the ground? In the ancient understanding, riches of course. Gold, silver, or other precious things. Also, the crops that sustained our life. Consequently, it’s a house associated with wealth, especially with your net worth and assets.
Modern usage of the house extends your “values” into a more psychological terrain, as in your ethical makeup. Even your sense perceptions that shape what you believe.
The argument could be made it would also be the house of rebirth, in the sense you are awakening after a time in shadow.
