Transcript

Amanda: Well, hello everybody. Welcome to The Astrology Hub Podcast. Today we're gonna be talking about something that is extraordinarily relevant right now, and it's designed for those of you who are feeling called to maybe start a business, or turn your passion into your career, or move more into a place where you are using your gifts to be of service, but that is also the way that you sustain your life.

And today I have an amazing guest with us, someone that is making her Astrology Hub debut. Her name is Cato Vermeulen, and she's from South Africa. And she is a high-level leadership mentor and astrologer who built a multi-six-figure business while also being a young mother, which we all know is very, very challenging.

She's the creator of the Category of One Blueprint, and she really is focused on helping soul-led entrepreneurs and founders build businesses that feel like cashmere on their nervous system: aligned, intentional, and wildly profitable. And as we've been talking about here at The Astrology Hub Podcast, the nervous system being considered in everything we do, everything we create, is so relevant right now.

So I love this new approach to creating. Today we're gonna be talking about Cato's wealth code, also multi-million dollar messaging, your soulmate clients, how to use the astrological chart to understand your soulmate clients, those that you're here to serve. We're gonna talk about timing, what the charts can tell you about when is the best time to launch something and be in that creation mode, versus when is the time to slow down and rest.

So we're gonna be covering a lot of great topics. Cato, I'm so happy you're here. Thank you for joining us.

Cato: Oh, Amanda. Oh my God, I am such a big fan of the podcast, of the show, so what an honor to be sitting in this space today with you. I'm just, wow. So grateful.

Amanda: Yeah. Amazing. Me too. All right. So because it's your Astrology Hub debut, I would love to get a little bit of your backstory.

How Cato Got Into Astrology

Amanda: How did you get into astrology? How did you, not only how did you get into it, which I'd love to hear, but also how did you get to this place where you're focusing very specifically in this one area of astrology?

Cato: Yeah. What a beautiful question. So I grew up with astrology because of my mother. These were the conversations that we were having when I was 11 years old, you know, when we were having dinner or when we were going on holiday.

And I remember that she was reading the charts of my friends, and I was just in awe of like, wow, how is it even possible that such an abstract, symbolic tool can know so much about me? I didn't even know all these things about me, you know? I was only 11 years old. So I was just like amazed. And it was then when I turned 16 years old, that's when I asked my mother, like, “I wanna start studying this.”

And she signed me up for evening classes, and I did that for two years or so. And every Thursday night for two hours, I would go there together with my mother. It was kind of like our bonding moment of us two together learning more about the stars, the cosmos. And obviously, my mother already knew so much about astrology, 'cause I learned a lot through her, but she did that to kind of do this beautiful activity together and to support me in this.

And it was only two years or so that I studied it, and then I kind of like put it to the side because that's when I started studying at university. I've got a master's degree in communication sciences, and I was modeling at the time, and then I was traveling around the world, and I just had a lot going on, and I never really considered astrology as like a profession. Like, it wasn't really a thing back then, you know?

Yeah. But, back in 2020, when the pandemic took place, that's really when I had like a really big breakdown in my life because it was like, “What am I gonna do with my life?” Like, the universe or the world seems to fall apart. What does that mean for me, and how can I find more meaning in my life?

And I was still like at the last, you know, in the last year of studying at university. I was writing out my thesis and everything, so there was a lot going on at the time, but I decided to start my cute little astrology business, and I did that on Instagram, and I was just like basically saying to people like, “Hey, I'm starting this new thing. Like, who's curious? Like, who would love to receive a reading from me? It's only 15 bucks,” you know? I was doing it like very, very affordable.

I didn't have the confidence yet, but I really started getting paid even though it was so little, but like there were more and more people interested, and that's really how I learned my craft, by doing it, by the accountability that people were like knocking on my door being like, “Oh my God, can you please read my chart and my chart, da da da da?”

And I was like, “Yes, for sure.” And that gave me the accountability and the courage and the motivation to start studying even more and take more courses and really going deeper into understanding this craft. And I think that's the fastest way of how you can really learn astrology is just by doing it so many times and making so many mistakes.

Scaling to Six Figures in Under Two Years

Cato: Oh my God, so many mistakes. Mm. And then the thing is I scaled my business to six figures under two years, and that was just me being an astrologer as well as running spiritual retreats around the world, like in Italy, in Amsterdam, in South Africa. It was really fun. I was like only 22 years old at the time.

And a lot of people came, again, knocking on my door asking like, “How the hell did you do that? How did you scale to six figures with like your cute little astrology business? Like, that's insane. I wanna learn more from like how you did it.” And that's when I received that permission slip from the universe of like, hey, maybe there's something there for me when it comes to like business and leadership and systems and all of it.

And I really felt this call of like, okay, I'm gonna say yes to this, and that's when I pivoted into business and leadership, like mentorship and coaching. And astrology has always been part of my toolkit and my toolbox, but I kind of like focused more on like the coaching aspect and really developed my skills in that and nonviolent communication, trauma healing, parts work, so many different modalities.

And then a couple of years later I decided, you know what? I want to infuse more of the business astrology teachings into my work. Because, yes, astrology can show you like who you are and what your soul's purpose is, and then my business coaching can basically show you, okay, but how are we gonna turn this into a wildly profitable business?

And now I'm like really combining those two together to really understand what is meant for you on a soul level, like your soul purpose, but also so much more. Because as you know with astrology, there's always more layers to dive deeper into, such as your million-dollar messaging, your niche, who are you meant to serve, who's your, yeah, your soulmate client.

Million-Dollar Messaging & Authenticity

Cato: What are your wealth codes? How are you meant to be seen? And really honoring yourself on such a deep soul level, because I fundamentally believe that the more authentic we become, the more abundant we will be.

Mm.

Because authenticity equals abundance.

Amanda: Mm. Mm.

And that is becoming more and more true every day.

Mm-hmm.

I mean, I think with the rise of AI, and the real radar that everybody has up of, like, is this real? Is this person real? Is this message real? There's always that question now, where that question kind of didn't exist a few years ago. You wouldn't look at someone online and be like, “Is that even a real person?”

So I love that, what you're talking about in terms of really tuning into our authenticity and letting that be the place where we can create from. Yeah. And your belief, that I also share, that when we are really in that place, that is when abundance will follow, and joy, and all the other amazing things that we want, you know, with our lives, not just the financial element.

Cato: Yeah, absolutely. I love that you said that, and that's exactly why I created the Category of One Blueprint, because it's really about staying loyal to yourself and honoring yourself, and not copy-pasting someone else's business model or their messaging or who they're speaking to, because I have found that that's actually when you're shooting yourself in the foot.

That's not sustainable, right? And I'm here for the marathon, not the sprint. I'm not here for just, like, a quick cash injection. No, I'm here to build my legacy, my movement, what it is that I want to be known for.

Amanda: Right.

Cato: Right? That's why also my core legacy offer, my mastermind space, is called Legacy Leaders.

Amanda: Yes.

Cato: Yes. And it's because, yeah, I'm inviting you to stand in your own power, your own leadership. And it starts with astrology…

Amanda: This is your Capricorn moon speaking, which I…

Cato: Oh my God, absolutely.

Amanda: I was just like, “There's her Capricorn moon.” You know, the other thing is that in order to create—so Saturn and Neptune in Aries at zero degrees, they've kicked off this being able to make our dreams sustainable long-term, right? Like for the long haul so that we can create lasting impact and legacy. These words are so perfect. You can only do that when you're tuned in to the wellspring of creativity yourself, which you have a unique channel to, right?

Mm-hmm.

Everybody has a unique channel through which they're gonna receive that wellspring. And so you're right. If you're copying other people, if you're trying to emulate other people, it's not that we can't learn from other people. We can.

Mm-hmm. Right? But, yes. Okay, I love what you're saying. Let me ask you…

What Are Your Wealth Codes?

Amanda: What are wealth codes? What does that even mean?

Cato: What the F does that even mean? Good question. Yes. So I have a unique way to look at your natal chart through the business, wealth, and leadership lens. So that means that you have unique codes that are highly personalized, right? That are, again, unique to you as an individual, and it's most likely going to be completely different than me, right?

So again, coming back to this piece of like, honoring yourself, trusting yourself that what is in your blueprint is really the map of your highest consciousness, and that is the fastest way to scaling to millions or whatever it is that your goal is, right? To like attract abundance on all levels, not only financially, but also, like you said earlier, like joy and bliss and playfulness and purpose and meaning and depth.

That's at the end of the day what I'm after, and a lot of my clients as well. So when we're looking at the chart, there's different ways of how I dissect it. But at the end of the day, there's not like one placement in the chart, and I'm like, “Oh, just look at your Venus placement, and that will tell you everything about how you're meant to make money, and that's how you will scale to millions.”

Like, that's also not how it works, right? Like, there's so many factors to take into account, and there's so many layers and so much depth, and that's why I'm obsessed with this. Like, I have my Mars in Scorpio. I cannot shut up about this. Right? I just like love to go deeper and deeper, and then you also have the transits to take into account.

But like coming back to your unique blueprint, I always like to start off with like understanding what your unique niche is. And for that, again, there's not one placement. There's so many different aspects that I have to take into account, and I'll take myself as an example because I think it's easier to be very specific and work with examples.

But like looking at my chart, for example, I was born with a Capricorn moon in the 11th house on my midheaven. And by the way, I'm working with Whole Sign houses because it's important to add that as context. And I also have my Saturn in the second house, and I'm moving through my Saturn return right now.

I'm sure we can talk about that later. Um, and I have Saturn trining my Sun in Leo in the sixth house. And I also have my North Node conjunct my Venus. So there's like several placements in my chart that indicate that leadership, career, money—that that is really a niche that fits me so well, especially with Pluto sitting in my 10th house.

Mm.

So I'm always going to look at different placements and constellations of like how is it, you know, in the chart for someone individually, and really understanding of like, okay, what niche are you meant to work in? Because I work with a lot of coaches, and consultants, and spiritual entrepreneurs, and I like to say like whatever modalities you use, whether it's somatics, inner child healing, astrology—these are just all tools in your vehicle.

That's not why someone is going to pay you big bucks or high ticket to hire you as the expert. You really have to connect your unique toolkit to a concrete specific outcome. And what do people buy? Well, they either invest into money, business, career; secondly, relationships; and thirdly, it's beauty, wellness, and health, okay?

So that is like the first step is like really understanding what's meant for you on a soul level when it comes to what niche. And that brings me to the next step: okay, who are you meant to serve? And I'm so curious to hear your perspective on this, Amanda, because I, over time, have developed my own methodology around this, and I truly believe that as service-based providers, our soulmate client is to be found in our South Node placement.

Amanda: Mm.

Cato: You have an idea why I'm saying that?

Amanda: Well, I can guess. I mean, would you be saying that because we already have served that sort of person? Or like we know there's an instant recognition and understanding of some of the pain points, and the challenges, and the weaknesses potentially, and strengths?

Finding Soulmate Clients Through Your South Node

Cato: 100%. Okay. 100%, absolutely.

Amanda: Hey there, friend. It is completely free. All you have to do is hit that little subscribe button.

Cato: So I believe that the South Node is basically where we come from in past lifetimes, right? If you believe in that. It's where our karmic debts lie. This is also where we spend the majority of our time the first 30 years of our life before our Saturn return—

Mm.

—especially when there's no awareness around our South Node patterns, and our energy, and archetype, and so on. So I believe that our soulmate client is a younger version of us—

Mm.

—who's less integrated, who's less embodied, and who is looking for exactly the thing where we are proof of our own concept.

Does that make sense?

Amanda: Yes. That's fascinating. Yeah, I'm thinking about that. Especially if you're working with people one-on-one. I can see that for sure. Absolutely. And I guess potentially if you're working with groups. I would be so curious… I mean, my South Node is in Aries, so I'm just wondering.

So would you say that then the kind of people that would be attracted to Astrology Hub, for example, or I guess really more what I offer through Astrology Hub, would be people that have Aries kind of challenges? Is that simplifying it too much?

Cato: No, no, no. I love that. This is so good.

So to give you an example again using my chart, and then we'll also look at your chart. So my South Node is in Pisces in the first house. So I have a lot of women who I recognize myself in. They're very much of the lone wolf, and you probably also recognize yourself in that, you know, with your Aries South Node. Like, having this lone wolf energy, hyper-independent, which is, you know, also a trauma response at the end of the day.

Mm-hmm.

And like the Pisces energy, the South Node Pisces energy for me is like women who do not have clear boundaries, maybe integrity, or you know, they're really called to take ownership, to step up, to have more systems in place. They're too flowy. They're too feminine. They're too all over the show, right?

Amanda: Right.

Cato: And they come to me to learn more about systems, how to scale businesses, how to bring it to the next level—very much like Virgo energy.

Amanda: Right.

Cato: Does that make sense?

Amanda: Yeah, it really does. It really does. That's fascinating. So yeah, and I would say, well, yes, you know what? This really makes sense, what you're saying, because if we live the first 30 years primarily in that South Node placement, which I can—I mean, what I did the first 30 years, I built an empire. Like, I worked very focused like a warrior on building the thing I was building. Yeah.

And then I realized it wasn't anything that I wanted, and so I basically blew up that whole life that I had built and moved to Hawaii and started something totally different, started life over completely.

Cato: I love that.

Amanda: And so, yes, I think the people that resonate with me are people who have walked a similar path, who go, “Oh, yeah, I did that too, and I thought I wanted to build this thing. I thought I wanted to be this person, but I don't. I actually want something very different.” Yes. Yeah. Very much so.

Cato: So my clients as well, they're a younger version of me.

Amanda: Right. Exactly.

Cato: But I just only have to focus on being proof of my own concept and being 10% ahead of them at least, right? Yes. So that I can share from my own experiences of like, hey, these are the shadow sides of, you know, my South Node. And obviously I look at their chart as well. But a lot of their characteristics is like also what lives in me because we're always a match for the type of client that we attract.

Amanda: Yes. Yes. That's truly what I believe. We attract clients who are a match for our own mastery as well.

Cato: That's why they come to me, and that's why your clients come to you as well, 'cause there's a resonance there. And that can be found, that can be seen in the chart as well of, like, why is there a resonance here? Wow. What can we learn from one another? How can we guide each other? Yes. How can we guide each other home, essentially?

Amanda: Exactly. Whatever niche you're in, whether it's in career, in health, in beauty, or relationships, it does not really even matter. Totally agree. Yes. Okay.

Your Money Houses: 2nd, 6th & 10th + the 4 Elements

Amanda: Tell us about the second, sixth, and 10th house, and those houses' relationship to someone's abundance.

Cato: Yeah. I love that. So again, the whole chart shows us where your abundance lies and where it can be found. But one of the ways that I like to work with astrology, and definitely through the lens of business, wealth, and leadership, is looking at your second, your sixth, and your 10th house.

Which is, of course, not a surprise, because those particular houses talk about money. It talks about how you wanna be of service. It talks about what you wanna be known for, what legacy you're here to build. And for that, especially 'cause I'm working with Whole Sign houses, I like to look at the archetypes that are sitting on the cusp of those three houses, and what the element is of that archetype.

Mm.

So obviously we have the four elements. We have fire, we have water, we have air, and we have earth. All of those archetypes and elements are going to be expressed differently depending on what you have sitting there, right? Whatever the rulership is. So the first step, without overwhelming too much—I like to simplify things—the first step is always looking at the element.

For example, I'm a Pisces rising, so that means that those houses, the second, the sixth, and the 10th house, are ruled by fire.

Amanda: Mm.

Cato: Right? Fire archetypes. So what that means is that how I'm meant to pursue money-making activities or building my business and how to be of service and building my legacy is really through this sense of passion and excitement and leadership and activating people. Like, I'm an activator.

Mm-hmm.

I hear this all the time from my clients. And it's so interesting 'cause I wanna add this too: usually where we're dominant—I have a lot of fire in my chart and also a lot of earth—that is exactly why people come to me as well, 'cause they usually are lacking fire or earth in their chart.

Amanda: Yes. Yes.

Cato: And that's why they feel drawn to my energy, because that's what they're seeking. They're seeking for that enthusiasm, that excitement, the creativity. I always give my clients ideas and creativity for content, for their programs. We give birth to their legacy together through creativity, and it's so fun. Yeah. That's my zone of genius. And then my earth comes in, and it's like, okay, how are we gonna structure this? How are we gonna build this?

And it's also a pattern that I've seen play out over time with my clients, because I always like to look at what's my chart and what's their chart? And there's a reason we're coming here together. There's a reason why they're hiring me. And I also wanted to give this as a little side note tip: look at where you are dominant in your chart, and also look at the chart of your client and see what can they learn from you? And what are you looking for when you're hiring a mentor or a coach or a consultant?

Amanda: Mm. Yeah.

Cato: Right? Maybe you're someone who's lacking air, right? Or someone who's lacking air would come to you with your Gemini moon 'cause you are so gifted with words and language.

Amanda: Mm.

Cato: Is that right?

Amanda: Yeah. My elemental balance is quite balanced.

Cato: Oh.

Amanda: Yeah. I actually have a good amount of all of them.

Cato: You seem balanced.

Amanda: So the one that I have the least of is water, which is interesting because water is my second, sixth, and 10th house.

Cato: Yeah.

Amanda: So I'm like, hmm, that's interesting.

Cato: Yeah. What planets do you have in water signs or all of those houses?

Amanda: Yeah, I actually don't. I don't.

Cato: Oh, wow.

Amanda: Yeah. The thing that makes me sort of more watery though is that my Sun and my Venus are both in my 12th house. Yeah. And so that brings in that element of sort of watery, deep feeling, but I don't have planetary placements in water.

Cato: Yeah. Interesting. So my take on this is that when we have a dominance of an element in our chart, it means that it's a big theme, right? Yeah. It's just for me with working with fire and earth. But when there is a lack of a certain element, that also can mean that it's a massive theme in your life.

Amanda: Mm-hmm.

Cato: So to give you an example, my mother also does not have any water in her chart, but she works as a trauma therapist and a healer. Yeah. So usually what we're lacking in our chart is also something that we become obsessed with. And the fact that for you those houses, the second, the sixth, and the 10th are ruled by water, that means that you need to feel emotionally connected to your work, to your legacy, to your career.

Otherwise, it's not sustainable. Oh, completely. If you don't feel that emotional connection, that attunement, if you're not able to use your intuition and your feminine superpowers in a way, right, those downloads—I think you're someone who receives downloads on a daily basis—and that's like how you're meant to alchemize it into your business.

Amanda: Oh, completely. And that's why I burnt out on the first 30 years thing I built, because it didn't have that. It didn't, it wasn't in a place that honored those gifts that I didn't even know I really had at the time, because I had so under-cultivated that aspect of myself, right?

Cato: Yeah.

Amanda: So we talked a little bit about fire and water. What if someone's second, sixth, and 10th is air? What would you say to them?

Cato: Yeah. So air means that this is someone who needs a lot of variety on a daily basis, and who loves this process of communication. Like, any communication-based projects is going to be important.

Like, this is someone who's a podcaster, or has a Substack, or loves writing. It's just like opening up your throat chakra and sharing your voice. Your voice is your medicine. It needs to be heard. So taking up space in that way is so important. And also that exchange. They love collaborating, and just having a soundboard, and cooperation.

And I think it's really beautiful in that way. So working together with other people, variety, having lots of change, stimulation, super important.

And then lastly we have earth. If you have earth signs on those house cusps, that means that you like something that's more stable and consistent. Growth doesn't happen overnight. It's not like fire. Fire's like, “I want this and I want it now.” Earth is more like, let's slow down. Let's build something steady and solid. Let me build a legacy. Again, earth is here for the marathon, not the sprint.

So it's like, yeah, very consistent, something that's repeatable. There's like a rhythm, there's a routine there, and that creates safety. They also need to feel safe with what they're doing. I think safety for earth is such a big thing.

Amanda: Yeah. This is so cool too, because it just really illustrates how… it demonstrates how we're not all here to do the same thing. Exactly. And really the formula or the programming has been mainly earth-based, I would say. Mainly that second, sixth, and 10th—you know, get the stable job, get the steady job.

And I know this is all totally falling apart in the narrative. People your age are not even really probably buying into that from the beginning. But my generation certainly did, and the ones before me certainly did, that there was this path, and that it led to something stable and reliable that you could depend on. But what you're illustrating though is that for some people, that is still true.

And there's nothing wrong with that. For some people, either building something themselves that is like that or becoming a part of something that feels like that is great. They're gonna find their fulfillment and their abundance there.

Cato: 100%, and that's why I'm such a big fan of conscious parenting. I'm a mama bear myself. My son is two. And I've already seen his chart, like the potentialities, and my role as his guardian and his mother is to really support him in his highest evolution and what is possible for him without me projecting my own stuff onto him. That I want him to be a certain way because this is my lens of how I've been raised and how I'm doing things.

It's like, no, I accept my son completely as who he is, whoever he wants to be, whatever is meant for him on a soul level. And thank God I have astrology. This is, for me, my tool to consciously parent him.

Amanda: Yes, 100%. I have two daughters, now 17 and 14—almost 18 and 15—and astrology came into my life when my first daughter was around three or four, and it has been invaluable in being able to recognize not only their gifts and really encourage that.

And it continues to be. I mean, now that my 17, almost 18-year-old is thinking about what's next, it's really… like I can feel the wave of what everybody does kind of pulling her, and it's really beautiful to be able to continue to ask, “But is that what you want? Is that where you feel called? Is that where you feel drawn?”

And so, yeah, it's huge. So helpful.

Cato: So that's also why I wanted to say, like, I was raised with this tool because of my mother.

Amanda: Yes.

Cato: That's also exactly the reason why I found my soul's purpose at the age of 21 years old, and I turned it into a business. That's how I was able to scale to six figures, and then later on in the first year of motherhood, to multi-six figures a year.

Because I have been using astrology as my unfair strategic advantage. Millionaires don't use astrology; billionaires do. There's a reason for it.

Amanda: Yes, yes. Oh my God. When I first got into astrology, I was coming from more of a corporate world past life in this life, and when I started to learn about it, I went, “Oh my God, how is every business not using this? How are they not?” And now I've learned that a lot of them are. Maybe not most. The smart ones are. They actually have astrologers that they're probably talking to on the side and not telling anybody. But okay, let me talk about this though:

Astrological Timing: When to Launch vs Rest

Amanda: Because this is another huge piece, is timing. When you're helping entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, founders, people that have creative projects that they wanna put out into the world, what are you looking at in the chart when it comes to how you advise them about timing?

Cato: Yeah, absolutely. So I used to give year-long transits to kind of map out like, hey, this is the astrological weather for the year, and this is how you can make the most out of it. Like, I like to look at these are the potential challenges, but also the opportunities, and it's up to you at your level of awareness, knowing that you have always freedom of choice to do whatever you wanna do.

And I look at transits like passing trains—they're passing by, and it's up to you whether you're gonna jump on that train of opportunity or you're not. Yes, because nothing is going to happen if you're not jumping on that train and making it happen.

Right? So it's just really opening up those portals of infinite possibility. I'm not a psychic. I'm not like, oh, this is absolutely 100% going to happen. That's never my way of how to use astrology. I don't think that's the most empowering way. But I do see tendencies, I do see energy, and I see potential, right?

So I first started doing this for an entire year, but then only recently, like last year, realized, you know what? Let me actually start giving readings that are only looking at the next three months. Because what I found is that it can be quite overwhelming with all the transits that are happening and all the things.

And then when it's too overwhelming, it actually doesn't really land for a lot of people, especially when they don't really speak the language of astrology, right? So I was like, okay, let me just make this more digestible. Again, this is my Virgo stellium talking right here. And it's really looking at, okay, what season of your life are you currently in?

And again, how can you make the most out of it to really maximize your energy, your efforts, and also your results? Because the last thing that you want is to be launching and marketing and being visible and putting yourself out there during a season when God is basically asking you, the universe is basically asking you, to slow down, to rest. And I have been there before in the past. I'm sure you have, too.

Oh, yeah.

When you're resisting, when you're fighting, and you're like, “No, now the launch needs to happen. We need money, or we need this, let's do it.” It's very masculine. Yes. I feel like feminine allows us to be more in our feminine. It gives that permission slip to really honor our own unique rhythm, to stay loyal to ourselves.

My season is my season. It's not your season. So again, how can I come back to my vertical line, really staying loyal to myself and honoring my needs in this moment? And one of the ways, again, to simplify things—because as always, there's so many more layers to this—but just to start out with, follow where the Sun and Mercury, Venus, and Mars are, basically, right? The personal planets.

And if they are moving through your fourth, your eighth, or your 12th house, I would recommend personally that that is a season where you're slowing down a little bit more. Because you will feel the desire to be more introspective, to rest, to connect more to your spiritual practices, to God, to journal, to go to yoga, whatever it is that you need in order to recharge your batteries.

So I personally would not recommend doing a really big launch during that time. You can, but you'll probably feel really resistant and tired, and you're like, “Oh my God, why does it feel like I'm pushing a boulder uphill?” You know what I mean? Yeah, we don't want that. That's not the vibe.

Because I truly believe that energy is everything. The energy behind what we're doing is also going to determine our results and what we're getting back, what the universe is going to reflect back to us. So I truly believe that when we're focusing on divine timing, knowing that that is part of the strategy, it can never go really wrong, in my opinion.

Divine timing is real. It's just learning about how to ride the wave, how to surf it beautifully, and knowing when, okay, now it's time to take a step back. So those are the seasons that I would usually recommend my clients, “Hey, maybe not the best time to launch and market and sell.”

What are great seasons for business? When it's moving through the second, the sixth, and the 10th house, 100%. But I've also found that it's really great to be seen and to have more of a spotlight on you when the planets are moving through the third, the fifth, and the 11th house.

So like I said, I just also want to emphasize, it's not that you're only going to make money in the year when the planets are moving through your second, your sixth, and your 10th house. That's also not how it works. But I align my business activities to where the planets are standing in my chart.

So to give you an example, when the planets were moving through my third house, that was really when I went all in on short-form content. I was posting every day. I had several reels that went viral. I had so many incredible new opportunities coming my way, like podcasts were knocking on my door asking for collaborations.

So that is also part of growing the business, right? And that leads to more clients, more money, more growth, more visibility. So it's really about being so intentional about: okay, this house stands for those business activities, I'm going all in, balls to the wall, and then really making the most out of the season that I'm in right now.

Does it make sense so far?

Amanda: Oh my gosh, completely. Yes. I mean, it's the same thing. It's a little bit of a different example, but when Jupiter was in Gemini three years ago, it's like a year-long transit, and so if I was thinking about it as a train passing by, to me, because my Jupiter is in Gemini and my Moon is in Gemini, I was like, “I'm gonna ride that train to write my book.”

This is gonna be the year that I actually write this book that I've been talking about for like seven, eight years, you know? I'm actually gonna write it. And so being able to identify a transit that feels like a supportive transit for you to do the thing that you've been wanting to do, it's so smart.

Yeah. And any other time I tried to do it, it didn't work. I would hit so many obstacles. And so once it was there, and it felt like the right thing to do, it was easy. And it was graceful, and it was joyful, and I was supported in that.

Cato: Yeah, I love that. I love that you're saying that because what I was just talking about, this is obviously on a month-to-month basis, but then obviously we also have to look at the outer planets, right? And the nodal axis. So looking at where Jupiter is right now, which is in Leo, Saturn is in Aries, and then the nodal axis is now going to shift from Pisces and Virgo into Aquarius and Leo, right?

Saturn Return in Business + Transit Forecast

Cato: So really paying attention to where those planets are sitting in your chart right now is also super important because that gives more context, more depth to the astrological weather forecast. And I feel like for the next year, year and a half, the water rising signs are going to, or they're already feeling it, including myself, 'cause I'm a Pisces rising—they're navigating a lot of business growth right now. Why am I saying that? Because Saturn and Jupiter are both placed in prominent work houses, whether it's the second, the sixth, or the 10th house.

And I feel like especially 'cause Saturn entered Aries last year, May, so it has been there for a while. Obviously, we had a retrograde period going on. But I just wanna say, especially the fact that I've been moving through my Saturn return for the past year, it's been so brutal. Saturn has been in my second house, and Jupiter now in my sixth house.

I would say the first year is usually like a little bit of a bitch slap from the universe, asking you to step up, to really level up, and rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty, and it's sometimes really uncomfortable. But the growth that is on the other side once you do that, once you do step up, and once you take it seriously, right? That is also really beautiful, and that's what I wanna say for all water rising signs out there: if it's been hard, if it's feeling like, “Oh, my God, why has business been slowing down? Why has it been feeling so uncomfortable and difficult?”

Just be patient, because growth is on the other side. And yeah, that's really what I think for the next year, year and a half: you're gonna see a lot of growth, quantum leaping success when you keep persevering and when you keep showing up in the arena.

Amanda: You know what's so cool is you knowing that you're in your Saturn return, and how much that conscious awareness brings to the whole process. Because every person that I've talked to who's maybe in their second Saturn return or has already gone through several Saturn returns, they all say when you pay attention to the lessons, when you actually take it—like you said, you take responsibility and you eat the humble pie and all the things that Saturn really makes us do—that the next time it's a lot easier.

And that each of these big life cycle transits—I call them life cycle transits 'cause we all go through them in our lives—they build upon each other. And so the more mastery with that first Saturn return that you use to actually create more mastery in your life, it just sets you up for the next chapter that you're about to embark upon, you know?

Cato: I like that. I truly believe that as well. That's my intention: awareness creates choice, and that creates room for transformation to happen.

Yes, I know my Saturn return lessons. My Saturn is in the second house. It rules my 11th and my 12th house. Oh my God, it's been so intense. So many friendships that have been falling away that it was absolutely shocking to my nervous system.

Mm.

My entire business, I've been restructuring that, thinking like, “Okay, what is the next direction?” Right? How am I going to reinvent myself? What do I truly want? What's my soul's purpose? Who am I?

All of the questions that have been coming up, which is so typical for Saturn return. But because I have that awareness of like, this is just a season, this is not going to be forever—that's actually helping me to ease into it and to feel more at peace, to feel a sense of surrendering and trusting divine timing, and trusting the lessons that I'm being presented with right now.

Is it easy? No. I've had several moments that I was on my knees praying to God and thinking like, “What is going on? I don't understand. I don't see the lesson yet.” But the lesson does become more visible over time. And that's really my journey: okay, how much can I keep rising into my power, into my leadership, and how can I be an example for my son?

Amanda: Mm-hmm.

Cato: And in that way, it actually becomes easier because I'm no longer fighting or resisting this really difficult transit that I'm moving through right now. And I think that's the key: stop fighting it. Stop resisting it.

Amanda: Yeah. You know, I know that it's hard when you're in it, but embrace it because this is an opportunity that you don't wanna let pass by. You don't want to let some of the gifts be unopened and the treasures unexcavated. Like, there's so much there. And yes, it's not comfortable.

Cato: Yeah. Thank you.

Amanda: By design. I mean, by design. If it was super comfortable, you wouldn't actually have enough of the energy to do the things you need to do. It's like sometimes… I love this quote from Michael Beckwith. I'll say it until I graduate: “Pain pushes until vision pulls.” And so sometimes we just kinda gotta get knocked around a bunch until we can get to a place where most of our transformation is happening through inspiration. But I think even then you're probably still being pushed by pain from time to time.

Cato: 100%, and I'm so curious as well. I would love to ask you this: obviously you have so much life experience and so much wisdom. What was one of the transits that was really challenging for you? Was it a Saturnian transit, or was it more like a nodal return or anything else? Pluto on your Saturn or your Moon? Like…

Pluto Transits and Business Rebirth

Amanda: Pluto going through… It's like in 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn. It was literally just entering Capricorn, where I have my Mercury, my Venus, and my Sun. But my Venus and Sun aren't until 28 and 29 degrees, so it wasn't gonna be till about 10 years later until Pluto was on my Venus and my Sun.

But it's like Pluto walked into Capricorn and just started dismantling me from day one. So in 2008, I had my first daughter, and that—I call her the great awakener because having her created this cascade of events that changed everything forever, which every mom and parent can relate to.

But I went on such an underworld journey for a really long time, which eventually led me to astrology, which is why I'm sitting here today. But Pluto—it's Pluto for me. I mean, it also correlated with my Saturn return, which I was at the tail end of in 2008 when I had her. So I decided to get pregnant when I was in my Saturn return, which is so textbook Saturn return.

Cato: Yeah. Oh my God, yes. 100%.

Amanda: Because nothing's gonna mature you like becoming a parent. Nothing's gonna actually make you ask those questions like, “What am I even doing? What am I modeling? What legacy am I leaving?” There's nothing like having a child to really instigate that, right?

Cato: 100%.

Amanda: Yeah.

Cato: I agree. Wow.

Amanda: So I would say Pluto's my jam in terms of just those guttural, “Oh my God, this is the most uncomfortable ever.” You know? But so precious on the other side. So precious even in it, you know? I always think of the Pluto transits as just like this excavating of treasure underneath the surface.

Because all the great treasures that we value on this planet are underground: oil, gold, jewels. That's where Pluto rules, you know? And that's what we get to excavate from within ourselves in those transits.

Cato: I agree. Wow, Pluto transits, they can be so brutal. There's like no mercy. No mercy. And it's like the biggest ego death of your life. And it can also lead into a massive death-rebirth transformation pivot in your business because you are no longer resonating with the woman that you were before, and you just know in your heart, “I have to move through this. The only way is through.”

And it's kind of like that moment when you're… and I feel this now in my Saturn return as well… like, I'm in the vaginal canal right now. I'm giving birth to this new version of me, Cato 2.0. Yes. And I kind of have an idea of what it's like to come outside of the vaginal canal, but there's still fear coming up, and it feels uncomfortable and painful.

The human experience. Yeah. And that's, I think, why all these transits, these bigger transits, especially on our Sun or Moon returns, are such massive initiations and also reset buttons. What a beautiful opportunity to reinvent ourselves and to come closer to God and to ourselves, to our highest selves, to really understand what really matters to us in this lifetime, and our soul's purpose.

Amanda: 100%. 100%, yes. It makes me so happy that you're out there and really conveying these kinds of messages, especially to the younger generations that are—you know, the ones that are younger than you that have maybe 10 years until their Saturn return. They can even start preparing for it now just by hearing from what you're going through. That's amazing.

And that's the kind of ripple effect that will just continue to impact. They're gonna be the next wave of mothers. They're gonna have children. They're gonna be different versions than they would've been if they didn't have role models like you.

So I think it's beautiful what you're doing, and I know it's not always easy, but you're doing amazing. All of you can take a deep dive into the world that Cato has created, and it's just such a beautiful synergy of many different modalities, different perspectives. And I love what Leo—'cause she's a Leo Sun, if you couldn't already tell—I love what Leo shows us all. And I do think with Pluto in Aquarius and with the nodal shift, and Jupiter in Leo, there's a lot of Leo themes up right now.

And so it's like taking the best of what Leo teaches us, which is what you started off saying: that when we are authentically ourselves, that is when we're giving our gifts. And when we're giving our gifts in the most authentic way, that is where abundance and joy and all these things come from.

Cato: Thank you. I love that. Yeah.

Amanda: I mean, that's really an amazing gift that you are modeling for people.

Cato: Yeah, I feel so seen. Thank you so much, and that is really part of my dharma as well, is to give other women that permission slip to be their most authentic selves, to be magnetic, to take up space, to be unapologetic, to be in their leadership, their creativity, their self-expression.

There's a reason why my soul came through in this lifetime being a Leo Sun, having that strong Leo energy, and really turning that into the healthy expression of Leo, of course. So I take that role very seriously, and I feel so seen by you. Thank you.

Amanda: Thank you for doing that. Seriously, I mean that. Um, why do you think it's so hard for people?

Healing the Fear of Being Seen

Amanda: I mean, maybe you don't know because you're a Leo, so maybe you haven't had as many of the challenges of being seen, but maybe you have. What do you see in your clients as to why it's so challenging?

Cato: I love this question. I think this goes really deep into childhood stuff. A lot of people don't realize how much childhood impacts them, especially in the journey of being an entrepreneur, right? It's like the fear of being seen, the fear of being rejected, of being judged, of taking up space, right? That stems from a memory in childhood that was deeply painful and confronting, and it can trigger people a lot in the present moment when they're about to go live on Instagram, right? Or when they're about to post a reel.

They're sharing their voice, or they're sharing their work, and the freeze stress response comes up, for example. And this is also a big part of my work, and what makes my work so different: yes, I'm a business coach, but I'm also trauma-informed.

So I work with trauma healing, healing inner child wounds, the stories that you're telling yourself about why something is not possible for you, why you're keeping yourself small, why you're keeping yourself safe, why you're essentially protecting yourself, right? And really how to set yourself free from those energetic blockages so you can go out there into the world and market your soul work with so much conviction and confidence, and just being unapologetic about it like we talked about—fusing more of that Leo confidence into your work.

And I think that's super important 'cause we can talk about strategies all day, but if you're not addressing older wounds, older triggers, activations, if you're not taking that seriously and really meeting yourself with so much compassion and grace, it's going to be really hard to grow, build, and scale your business. You can still do it, but it will be very challenging. You'll be met with a lot of resistance. That's what I have found with a lot of women that I work with.

Amanda: Yeah, I mean, this goes for… I think sometimes the older generations feel this maybe even more, because not only is there all those places of resistance, but then also feeling like they've been left behind as far as technology goes, as far as the actual skill set required to be successful in an online business or within social media. It can be so intimidating.

So then it brings up all the “I'm not good enough, I'm not smart enough, I've been left behind, I no longer have value.” I've seen that come up in our community, people really feeling that wound. And so you're right: when you are deciding to put yourself, your work out into the world, all these things will come up.

It's like a guarantee that they will come up. But isn't that amazing? ‘Cause then it's this opportunity to see it and to work through it.

Cato: Yeah, that's why I believe that entrepreneurship is personal growth on crack. It's inevitable. You're going to be met with your biggest demons, and all of your insecurities and wounds, and the stories that you're telling yourself about yourself. It's just so painful and so confronting, and at the same time, so rewarding.

Because, like I said, you're coming closer to God. You're coming closer to yourself. And really overcoming that in a way… well, that's the whole point. That's what I teach my clients: can you meet yourself with so much compassion and grace first and foremost? Bringing in that spiritual mama bear energy, right? Basically being the mother you never had, 'cause there's always an opportunity there to re-parent yourself.

And then from that place, we're gonna bring in the fatherly energy, which is holding you to a higher standard. Meeting you with compassion, but we're not gonna just stay there, because that can easily turn into laziness and not doing anything about it, right? Yes. We still wanna take ownership. We still wanna show up in the arena, and do the thing, and market our soul work.

Otherwise, it's going to be really difficult to grow your business when you're Google's best-kept secret. So obviously, we need to take ownership. We need to put in the action, the game plan, the strategy, calling ourselves forward with love, calling ourselves into a higher standard. That's how we grow.

That's fundamentally my belief of the fastest, most efficient way to grow ourselves, right? But also our business, and in alignment with our astrological blueprint, of course. That's how we bring intentionality into everything we do.

Amanda: Yes.

Overcoming Marketing Resistance

Amanda: How do you handle… you've used the word “marketing” several times, and I know that a lot of people have a huge resistance to that word, and also what the connotation is with that word. Do you have a way you reframe it? Like, how do you think about marketing? And have you ever had resistance towards it?

Cato: Oh my God, yes, 100%. In the past couple of years, I went through moments where I was also like, “Ah, I feel resistance towards showing up. I feel just the desire to not be seen.”

And it's so interesting. I also see this in my chart, in my blueprint. ‘Cause we talked a lot about wealth codes and stuff, and your zone of genius, and your soul's purpose, and what's meant for you. But you can also look at what's really challenging for you in business.

And for me, I have Jupiter, which is my chart ruler, opposing my Sun. It's in the sixth and the 12th house. So Jupiter is in the 12th in Aquarius, and my Sun is in Leo in the sixth house. They are opposing one another, and I feel this push and pull between wanting to be seen, wanting to be on stage—which is Leo 6th house—or wanting to be of service, and then also having moments that I just don't wanna be seen.

I wanna be behind the scenes. I wanna slow down. I just wanna be working behind the scenes, behind my laptop, and no one sees me or hears me in days or weeks, you know? And I go back and forth between those two energies, and sometimes it's challenging. So I've had resistance where it's like, “Oh, I don't wanna show up right now,” which is part of life. It's also part of our astrological transits, as we spoke about.

When I notice there's resistance, I allow it to be there. I give it the right to exist. I even do some EFT tapping on it. Sometimes it disappears. Sometimes it doesn't. I really honor myself. I don't work from a place of forcing and fighting the resistance. The resistance is there for a reason. It's probably 'cause I'm trying to meet other needs for self-care or slowing down, and I think that's really important.

When I feel a little bit icky when it comes to marketing and selling, I just remind myself to come back to the vibration of service. Because when I'm serving, I feel so much in my power. I remind myself of my why, why I'm doing this, and that I'm impacting so many people's lives, and that in itself is so incredibly motivating and inspiring and activating for me, that it gets me going like this.

And of course, there's seasons where I don't really feel like showing up, and I really honor myself during those seasons. I don't push it. I don't force it. I don't resist the resistance. I just allow it to be there. And I truly believe in when I receive that green light from God, from the universe, of, “Okay, now it's time to share about my work and market and invite people into my spaces,” then I follow. Then I listen to that green light and I take action. I believe in aligned action. That is basically what it comes down to.

Amanda: Mm. And when you have aligned action, you don't have resistance. So yes. Really good.
