Capricorn Weekly Horoscope | August 26th – September 1st 2024
You may shudder at the thought of Pluto reentering Capricorn on September 1st, but it’s not necessarily worrisome. Pluto, the planet of ordeals and the transformations that arise from them, also rewards those who brave its trials. Sometimes it’s a financial boon, and sometimes it’s a fearlessness that, once bestowed, can never be taken away. It’s this newfound strength that’s meant to move you forward into the next stage of your evolution. Pluto back in Capricorn isn’t here to rattle your cage; it’s here to see how well you’re doing – and maybe add some finishing touches before departing for good. Pluto’s in Capricorn until November 18th.

Getting angry at people for not appreciating you and then brushing them off when they try to make up for it isn’t helping your cause. It sends mixed messages, confuses everybody, and leaves you feeling worse than you did before. So why is this such a big deal? Are you afraid of showing that you care about such petty things as – ego strokes? There’s nothing wrong with needing praise and recognition, and maybe if you were more comfortable about receiving it, then people would be more forthcoming. It’s not a weakness to be loved and adored. It’s an asset. Go ask a Leo.

Uranus retrogrades are famous for pendulum swings. They’re not as abrupt in their about-faces as a typical Uranus transit, but they can be just as absolute and uncompromising. Let’s say you’ve spent months rallying against a cause, refusing to yield an inch on a hotly contested point or even considering seeing things from a different perspective. Well, when that pendulum swings – like it will on September 1st – you may find yourself waking up on a different side of the brain. You may start to embrace (if not exactly champion) the very things you once found objectionable. But instead of it hitting you suddenly like a bolt out of the blue, this realization will gradually dawn on you over the next few months so that the changes you elect to make are more gradual and long-lasting. Uranus will be retrograde until January 30th.

Mercury comes out of retrograde on August 28th and so do you. For 2 ½ weeks, the planet of spinning plates has put you through your paces as you fielded crises while negotiating backslides and unanticipated delays. Your life has been a three-ring circus, and you’ll only be too happy for things to return to normal. One wonderful thing to emerge from all this craziness will be a new friend. Maybe you met sitting next to each other on the plane, at the gym, or some neighborhood hot spot. In any case, there’s a very real and lasting connection, as you’ll see in the weeks ahead.

You’re under pressure to act – and to act decisively – when there’s a Last Quarter Moon in Gemini on August 26th. You’ll have no patience for people fussing over technicalities, contingency plans, and disclaimers. This will all strike you as irrelevant and annoying. Nevertheless, there’s something valuable about the information that an expert is trying to impart, and even if you can’t make sense of it in the moment, it would be wise to circle back later. Mercury, the planet of communication and ruler of the Gemini Moon, is playing a pivotal role and promises to translate those hieroglyphs into easy-to-follow action steps.

Uranus retrograde on September 1st brings a downshift in gears. It’s aggravating considering the time spent getting your information in order for a review, application, or interview. Does this mean that the whole thing’s off? Let’s say it’s not the burning priority for the other party like it once was. This is good news if you were being targeted by an inquiry, investigation, or lawsuit because the whole thing may blow over. But what if this was something you pinned your hopes on? Start looking for another door to knock on because the one you’re standing in front of won’t be opening anytime soon.

There are three ways to interpret the Sun/Uranus square followed by an opposition to the Moon on August 19th. This creates a T-square and could result in a parting of the ways in a relationship or business association. If so, then this would be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Yet, a crisis can also revitalize a bond that’s been allowed to lapse, so the square could bring you two closer together. Finally, this planetary configuration may signal the return of someone from your past who has—to your great surprise—cleaned up their act. They could be looking to get back together.

So when did you become a radical? Evidently, six years of revolutionary Uranus in your zodiac sign has had an impact. It’s doubtful you’re toting around a copy of Das Kapital, but it does look like you’ve become an advocate for change at work. It’s clear that a certain boss or superior needs to go. It was one thing when they were just coasting along, but now they’re impeding progress and becoming more and more of a liability. On August 19th, it looks like you’ll be casting the deciding vote, and though it still tugs at your conservative heartstrings, you know it’s for the best.

A Sagittarian’s response to any fraught situation is to bolt. Nobody’s out the door faster than someone born under the galloping Centaur. Unfortunately, the Jupiter/Saturn square on August 19th shows that that won’t work. You’ve no choice but to see a difficult home or property matter through to the end. Not only are you honor-bound, but you can’t afford to walk away. Ironically, it will be staying put that saves you in the end. As a Child of Jupiter, you often choose faraway destinations over solutions that lie in plain sight. Focus on the here and now, and you’ll find the salvation you seek.

There’s an extraordinary cluster of planetary squares all taking place on August 19th. It begins with a T-square comprised of Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn followed by a Full Moon/Uranus square and then concludes with an extremely rare Jupiter/Saturn square. This is a raucous combination and you can expect things to get dicey. That’s because squares are combative energies in Astrology which means that none of these planets are in the mood to cooperate, much less back down. Think of a barroom brawl from one of those old Western movies where chairs go flying as cowboys tumble over tables or smash bottles over each other’s heads. It’s absolute mayhem which means it would be a good idea to find a quiet spot to wait things out. In the end there will be a return to calm and peace, but only after the planets have exhausted themselves which should be some time around August 29th.

The Full Moon on August 19th brings yet another rude awakening; however, this one’s good. Uranus is known as the planet of revolution in Astrology, but it becomes the planet of revelation when it squares a Full Moon. In your efforts to create a different life for yourself, it looks like you may be falling back into familiar patterns. The point of all the changes you’ve made since Jupiter entered Gemini last May was to turn over a new leaf, not build a new nest from the same foliage. Embrace the spirit of exploration and adventure, or you could wind up replicating what came before.
