Transcript:
[00:00:00] In today's episode, I sat down with astrologer Gary Caton, and he suggests that we are crossing into territory that is very different from where we came from the age of imagination. A time when answers aren't handed to us, and curiosity becomes one of our most important tools.
I'm Laura Orcutt, an astrologer and your host of today's episode. if you felt like the old ways of understanding reality aren't quite working for you anymore, this conversation might be perfect. So let's dive right in.
Gary, welcome back to the Astrology Hub Podcast. It's so great to have you back. I feel like we're having a Gary party in the beginning of
the year,
Woohoo,
Yeah, it
works. It works for me.
I,
you know.
Maybe it's because of Aquarius Rising, but
even,
even after, even in the late Capricorn, I've never had that like post holiday season hangover, really, I've always felt like. And maybe it's just part of being an Aries, like when it's time to, when something new is, I like, oh, new, let's go. Right? It's just like, [00:01:00] but yeah, the beginning of the year has always been a busier time for me for some reason. And I always feel like, and maybe it's also like the literal rebirth of the sun. You know? But yeah, so it's good timing for a Gary party.
That's good. So you're the perfect guide for us,
us through. And you know Gary, I was
on. You know, doing the 2026 forecast panel recently and thinking about the
year ahead, I've been doing
a lot of thinking about 2020 as well, and what the astrologers were saying about that year. And you were a really, loud voice for us during
that time.
You
were really helped
this community
through that time. And some of the things you said have really stuck with me. like the rise of the exile tribe. Like I, I
hear, I
hear you in my head sometimes, especially when I, like, it's been something that has carried me through
the past
six years, really. To know that that's like part of the, part of
the plan.
that's awesome.
I'm glad, I'm really happy to hear that because I mean, that's a whole, we could do an entire podcast on that about the nature of Aquarius because I feel like it's kind of [00:02:00] misunderstood actually.
you know how we usually pick a theme like this time around, we had a song title and
we did
a
mix tape.
And back then
we were picking themes and my theme was the Rise of the Exile.
And, there's a few reasons for that. I mean. In classical astrology, the sun rules Leo, and so that's the son's home. And so when the sun is in
Aquarius,
it's as far from its home as it can be. And oftentimes, metaphorically or symbolically, that can indicate usually when people, sometimes
when people are
far from home, it's because they've been exiled from their home. You know, and I have seen many, many examples of that. When people have planets opposite the
sign of their rulership,
there's an experience of being,
it's
not always exile per se, it could
just be like the feeling of
being a pilgrim,
you
know, of being a wanderer. There's also another term that goes along with that, which is Peregrine.
When a planet is not
[00:03:00] in one
of its dignities, it's Peregrine, it's wandering. It's not in its home. that's
just been
a really strong experience for me in my life. And, in fact, I was homeless for
a while
in my
twenties.
And, and that experience of being on the outside looking in, I feel like that's a really core Aquarius experience,
because
both Capricorn and Saturn are ruled by. Sorry. Capricorn and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn
and,
but Capricorn is a nocturnal sign. It's a, it's an earth sign, right? So what do we do? So Saturn rules, boundaries like your skin. There's all kinds of rules for when it's okay for me
to touch you and
not, and so on, and. So what do we do? So think about that's
the boundaries of our
body, the boundaries of like our home or or our city state, right?
Back when astrology was being formed humans organized in city [00:04:00] states,
there
would be walls around the city
and they would
close the gate
for protection. Same way
many people close and lock their doors and
windows at night.
And so the Capricorn is about closed systems where you
have to
have a key, or you have to have a degree, or you have to have, you know, credentials to get in.
Right? There's
a gatekeeping aspect that
goes along
with that energy. and gatekeeping isn't always bad, by the way. Like sometimes it serves a pretty good purpose.
Yeah. but in Aquarius there is a, there's an opening. It's a daytime, it's an air sign, right? And so
there's more, it's, there's an impulse to open the boundaries so
we don't need it to be ruled by Uranus or have any kind of new age
association for it to be about like brotherhood and, and, and, and, and exchange. Because that's what we do in the daytime. We open the door and we go out into the world and we exchange energy and goods and [00:05:00] ideas with other people. For instance,
the
Capricorn card
is the devil Card, and then you have the tower, and then you have Aquarius the Star. And so.
There
was there. Sometimes there, there can be a radical separation from these
closed
systems and
we get
thrown out of them, whether it's by our own volition or or otherwise. And where, where
we
land when that happens is Aquarius
land.
And so. Everyone's been exiled in one way or another from these closed systems, whether it's like
a group
of friends, and suddenly you didn't, you weren't cool anymore, you know, or whatever. And, and so that's why, and, and of course we were having the Jupiter Saturn conjunction in,in Aquarius, right?
And so this idea of the rise of the exile, because it's
a 20 year window of
that energy, and so. Like basically re [00:06:00] rediscovering, recovering, rejuvenating, rebirthing, those exiled parts of you. It felt like that was gonna be a theme. And of course, I didn't have any idea that we were all gonna be exiled from each other essentially, you know?
Right. It took
a very
literal
meaning to that, like we were exiled from each
other, from
society, and then all of the strife and infighting that
happened afterwards
where you might've felt exiled from people that you once felt comfortable with.
so it was very literal and.
So that's, that's
why it stuck with me because.
When I feel exiled, I'm like, okay, wait, this is part of the cosmic plan.
Like maybe I should lean into this. Maybe I should, like, there's something here for me. And so
there's some, and so you, you were talking about Aquarius because both Pluto and then the great conjunction of Saturn
and Jupiter
went into Aquarius.
And so, okay, so
something,
something, you, said in the 2026 forecast
that we had last month
was that this is,
and
you kind of said it in passing, so I wanna expand on it, is this is the mother of all seed moments and, and you.
I believe you were talking about the Saturn
Neptune conjunction,
which you'll be [00:07:00] guiding our community through on February 20th.
and
so the mother of all seed moments,
that's a pretty BA statement. I'm curious,
what makes this the mother
of all seed moments or
what makes it different
from other seed moments that we
have? 'cause we
have a few, you know, we have seed moments all the time, but what makes this one
That's right. Yeah. So. It's
interesting because in, you know, in the, in the, in the runup was, we were chatting when before we started recording, we were
talking about
Getting
to the heart of things and like realizing like you can get to the heart and then
there's another
layer and another layer and another layer. So that's kinda like the seed moments.
Like every
new moon is a seed moment, right? There's literally the moon is disappearing under the horizon and is invisible for a few days. Like when we dig a furrow
and put
a seed into the darkness of the soil, right? And so, and, and, and literally the moon is passing between the sun and the earth.
That's why. So if you can think about that interior space,
there's
like a seed moment happening, right? And the [00:08:00] same thing when, Mercury or Venus are retrograde. They're passing between the sun and the Earth.
So that's like, but
those happen a little more, a little less frequently than the
new moons.
And then you have, so you have like these layers. and in fact, Dane Rja. Was one of the first astrologers that I started
reading because when
I was first became an astrologer, I was poor. I had like, maybe I had five bucks left over on Friday, and I would go to the used bookstore and see what I could find to get my astrology fix. And
there was usually a Dane Rja book in there. And that Dane Rja is really dense and difficult reading
actually.
but. It's really phenomenal. His, his, his basic idea was that all life is cyclical,
including
civilization exists within a cycle. So there's just like, humans have a life cycle, civilizations have a lifecycle. And so that, and then, so when [00:09:00] you start thinking about like that way. There's cycles upon cycles,
upon cycles, upon cycles. And,
he was convinced that we are in what he called the autumnal phase of civilization, which would mean that, you know, third quarter if we think about it in terms
of the
lunar cycle. And he called, he, he talked about
that in
terms of the autumnal phase.
He talked about the autumnal choice that. The leaves are falling to the ground and things are dying. There's a mass death in the northern hemisphere. There's
a, there's a mass
death of vegetation in the Scorpio season,
right? It's,
and, nothing's
gonna
grow for six
months.
So there's a whole biological reality of dealing
with that.
And yet,
at the same time, the, the seed, the acorns are falling with the leaves.
And
so his idea was like, look, where are we gonna put our consciousness?
Are
we gonna put our consciousness with the leaves, with this ephemeral, you know, [00:10:00] thing
that's passing
away? Or are we gonna try to identify with the seed?
And
he thought that if, if
you don't choose, the default choice
is you're gonna be
scattered
like the leaves and you're gonna be caught in this,
Feeling of being in a
system that's decaying around you and so forth. And there,
I mean, you know, there's a lot of that, right? A lot of people are feeling that. but if you, but if you intentionally focus on being seed, then it's like, it's like
the hermit
card, you know, in the tarot where he is holding a lamp.
That's
the seed of. His consciousness
that he's shining into the darkness, and
that's what the seed is. Even as
the seed gets
buried under the leaf detritus. It's a, it's a, it's a hope for the future. You know, it's a, it's a potentiality for another cycle. And, and so, and I mean, Rebecca [00:11:00] pointed out that these, these alignments of Saturn and Neptune in Aries are rare. And alignments, like really rare, like literally
the only
two in the entire
history of the civilizational cycle
is,there's only two that are really as close to the Aries point of zero Aries as this one is.
And that was in like five. I've got, I've got the gears, but let me see if I can find them. my Virgo wants to be precise.
5
94 BC and 5 55 ce. so
is only the third time in in the history of everything we know.
Wow.
this has happened, this close. And so now technically this idea that civilization itself has a cycle would be the, would be like the grandmother of all cycles. This is just the mother.
Amazing.
You
know? So there's
this seed moment of something, and I
think Rebecca
made a really good [00:12:00] point about how. The axial age was the, was from this disparate collection of Pagan, and you can still see this today, by the way. I mean, I was over in
Spain the last couple years. I had the tremendous good
fortune of being invited over there by some of my students. And you know,
there
across
the north of Spain, there's. like Three, four, maybe more languages that are spoken. there's a very, it's dramatically
different cultures. Even within that one country, there's like this tribal
feeling
of, yeah. Like
Elithia is, they literally speak a different language than Catalan, which is on the other side of the peninsula.
You know, and so there's, so there was, so
that was
the reality in the Axi before the axial age. There
was like all these
little tribal. Realities and the axial age was the birth of like
this unifying
philosophy, unifying philosophies. There was more than one, like there [00:13:00] was Taoism in the East and there was Buddhism in the, in the Near East,
and there
was, you know, Pythagorean in, in the West and so forth.
But the, but the fact that these unifying philosophies.
Began
to emerge,
that
sort of
superseded and it was like another layer of, of organizing principle that became
operative in
the human consciousness. and
then that took on a whole nother layer, like, 5 55 was basically the territorial zenith of the Byzantine Empire.
I think Justinian was the emperor at that time. And so.
There
was like this idea of a unifying philosophy then became,
what's the
word, sort of, embodied within a organi organized
state presence
presence
with the, with Christianity being the. Official religion and the, and the state
of
the
Byzantine state being like the [00:14:00] organizational, like the capricornian structure of that philosophy.
So there was, now, now there wasn't just an organizing philosophy, but there was like a,
a
governmental structure,
a state
structure within which to hold that.
And
that was a whole,
so,
so now it's, it's very interesting to consider.
What's
next? I
mean,
and, and that's the thing where I was getting into, you know, super unknown.
We
can
imagine
that
we can, we can hope for certain, you know, different people have different ideas about what would be ideal. but yeah, we can't really know actually what comes next.
Right.
both terrifying and exciting.
Yeah.
I, I I lo I, my, one of my mottos is,where
there is uncertainty, there's
possibility
When there is big astrology, one of the most natural questions we hear is, what does this mean for me? The Saturn, Neptune conjunctions at zero degrees. Aries is definitely one of those moments. [00:15:00] So we created a free Saturn Neptune Guide through the signs. In this guide, you'll understand exactly where this transit is showing up for you.
Whether it's relationships, career identity, money, or something deeper beneath the surface. These horoscopes are practical, grounded insights To help you navigate this time with clarity and ease and intention, you can download your free Saturn Neptune Guide through the signs in the show notes below, or by going to www.astrologyhub.com/saturn.
Neptune.
Exactly.
Yeah. And
so
anything is possible when nothing is certain. Anything is possible. That's a better way to say it. and so you're gonna be guiding our community through this mother of all seed moments
and
helping us understand,
like, so you said about the
leaves and the acorns,
right?
Like
how do you know if you are like truly planting a seed or
if you're like acting outta fear or maybe it being in the lead detritus, like how, how do you work
through that?
Right?
Yeah, I think it's [00:16:00] a feeling. but it's also, So think about what a seed is. It's a,
it's like the smallest
package,
within which the, the, the whole of something can be contained, right? It's a super concentrated essence of something. That's what it
is. that carries a feeling of wholeness. Right. And
so if you're
feeling separation, if you're feeling, anxiety, if you're feeling like you're probably not really in that, that seed space of like, I know at least one thing that I
funda
is
a fundamental truth for me and returning. And all of us know things that are fundamental truths for us, but we get. Decentered from those by the noise
and by the, the leaves are
blowing around, you know, it's like, ah, it's easy to get decentered from our truth, but we're, when we're in our truth, there's a centering, there's a, there's an
[00:17:00] essence of wholeness that we feel
connected to,
and, and it made, it doesn't have to be philosophical or mental in any way.
It can just be like. I feel at peace in my body. There's, it may
be that there's
a certain place where you get that feeling. It may be there's
a certain
time of day that
you get that feeling and and
learn, and there's certain ideas that you get that feeling and there's certain people,
you get
that
feeling and.
and.
Understanding, and it's not a judgment at all. Like there's certain people I get that feeling with and there's certain people that really, it's really difficult for me to have that feeling with. And, that's not a judgment about them. That's a, that's a, that's a discernment about my energy and how I feel, And so
that's,
that's like gonna be super. Important to remember and keep coming
back
to like, when do I feel in my center? When do I feel in my truth? When, [00:18:00] where, how and when do I feel like really pulled
away
and,
and, and, and struggling. And how do I get back to my center because that's, that's, how we're gonna plant the seeds and one of the reasons why. I'm so ardent and passionate about stargazing is that that's
the seed
moment of astrology. When we, you know, when we stopped being hunter-gatherers and settled in, settled in, you know, communities, we
had to
organize society around being settled in one
place, right? And
so. We literally divided up labor according to, and there was one class or sector, whatever you wanna call it, was the priestly cast. Their job was to go
up these ziggurats and to watch
these wandering stars. What are they doing? Because,
they, they had a
feeling like
there was
meaning here
that, so that's. Who we are. That's our [00:19:00] truth. That's our deepest truth. And that's, in fact, that's a
core truth for
civilization because, and even the scientists admit this backhandedly and in
a, like,
you'll see them talk about, you know, the Babylonian theory of planets. Where they discovered the stenotic cycles of the planets through like trigonometry and all this stuff. They were doing trigonometry before Pythagoras,
by the way,
apparently.
Wow.
So
that's, that's kind
of interesting. But this idea that it's, it's a seed moment for civilization, actually. It's a seed moment because, and, John Michael Greer talks about this, and he did
a book
about Pluto. Where the discovery of the visible planets is like this moment. And if you think about it, like Venus arts and crafts,
mercury
writing and, and language, you know, Mars like, you know, military presence,
you have
to [00:20:00] have one
if you're gonna
settle in one place. 'cause otherwise you won't be
around
very long.
Jupiter organized religion
like
the priest. The priest that priest and priestesses who go up and study the and Saturn agriculture. These
are the fundamental building blocks of civilization as we know it, and our, and the birth of our understanding of them came through Astro and astrologers.
and so when we, if, when we go back out and experience that and like
follow,
pretty soon Venus will be rising in the evening sky and then she'll make seven conjunctions with the moon as
she gets
higher and brighter until she reaches this glorious maximum brightness in the summer.
Her
walking
that path with her as she's,
that's.
Returning to the center and the seed of who we are as astrologers and it has a tremendous vitality that comes with it. and so, you know, that's why I encourage people and I do everything I can. I mean, I've spent countless [00:21:00] hours invested thousands
of dollars in camera equipment.
I get paid for none of it. But I feel like it's so important to show people, look, this is,
this is the luminous reality that of
who we are.
Hmm. And
Um, and it's precisely because of that, because it's a seed. That's the seed of who we really are.
Totally. And in a world where we are increasingly online, increasingly in
the head, increasingly detached, like it's a good practice regardless if you're planting
seeds
or not,
just embodiment
Right.
To come back. And that was
another thing
in the, 2020 forecast was stay human. That's another thing I remember.
so that's, that tracks and Gary, there's there's so
many threads we can pull out there that you just went through. so maybe we'll have to have
you back for another podcast
episode.
But I, I really wanna get to your month in the inner circle with
Yeah,
of course.
because we're really excited about it and I think you're the perfect guide to guide us through this really.
Crazy lunar cycle we have going on here that starts with the Aquarius solar eclipse on
February [00:22:00] 17th, and takes us into
the Pisces New Moon. So you'll
be guiding us through the
eclipses
Mercury retrograde, the Saturn Neptune conjunction. So a lot of stuff going on,
but.
One thing I wanna start with is your theme.
So if you don't know how the Inner Circle works, we have a new astrologer that guides us through every lunar cycle. So every new moon, there's
a new teacher
and they
give
it a month a theme,
like a flavor that we can hold onto. And Gary, you chose the theme
receiving the Seeds of
the Age of Imagination one.
I
love
my so, so when I said this is the mother of all cycles and when like, what comes next for humanity and we don't really know. That's truth. And yet it's my job to kind of try to put
something
on that for people.
And so my best, my best forecast of what, what this is a seed of is what's being called the Age of
Imagination.
And that
has to do with, so for a long time when people
talked about the
Renaissance, they referred [00:23:00] to the Italian Renaissance as the Renaissance. And then. We began to unpack history a little bit more and realized, well, there was kind of a renaissance here too and kind of a renaissance. So there, so there was the Italian Renaissance, but there were other Renaissances. There was the Persian Golden Age was a kind of renaissance that was very big in terms of as astrology and like a whole bunch of different solar returns,
solar,
ingress come from that,
you
know,
period. And that culture, So the Age of imagination is like a reimagining of, it's
a
reframing of
the
industrial
process,
industrialization. So there was, there was the Industrial Revolution 1.0 if you will, which
is like steam
engines and, and and so forth. And then there was
like
the telegraph and Railroads 2.0 which connected, you know, vast areas of. Of, land and then the [00:24:00] 3.0 was like computers, the, the, you know, the, the, chip and and the age of information, which you've certainly heard about. So, so the age of imagination comes next that some people are saying,
which
would be like Industrial Revolution 4.0 essentially.
And it's
interesting that this kind of tracks with Uranus and Gemini also. Right. So, and really we could go back and
we could
renumber the whole thing because like the printing press was kind of the original technological revolution.
So if
we go back, it's probably really like, I don't know how many cycles of Uranus that is, but
it's maybe
in the teens even. so they don't, we don't need to
get hung up on the numbers, but the idea
that in the age of information, like. Having the technical knowledge of coding, for instance,
was
a golden key to, to being, you know, a power broker within the age of information.
Well, [00:25:00] now
if you
understand how to use ai, you can
get AI to code something
for you. You just need to tell it what the thing needs
to do. And I say,
oh, here's how you code that. So
the
go, the, the knowledge of the tech, knowledge of coding is not necessarily the golden key. It once was. It's still great to have, don't get me wrong. I'm sure
coders
are not gonna go outta business. I don't, I'm not saying that. but the idea is that if
it's knowing,
so, so if coding is now more available to what what do we wanna code? So the power to imagine the best uses for these tools is gonna be the golden key, the power of
imagination, the
power
of imagining
possibilities.
It's
like you said, it,
it
it
uncertainty means that anything's possible.
We don't
really know what's possible with,
like, there's things that
we haven't even [00:26:00] begun to imagine that
are possible,
but we just haven't had the, the technology to make them possible before.
So we haven't even bothered beginning to imagine them. And
so this idea of the
age of imagination is, is that imagination is going to be the currency of the next.
Era and that your ability to imagine a new world, a new,
a
new organizing principle for you and your life, and and to,
to
recognize new ways of imagining and get, get on board with them.
Like Amanda was talking about surfing the waves. Oh, and there's a new wave. Like,
and, and.
That
And feeling into whether, okay, is that for me?
And
then if so, like learning how to surf that particular kind of wave and getting tuned into it.
having the imaginate
[00:27:00] imaginative ability to recognize new
forms of being the, and the potential in them, and then aligning ourselves with them and be, and that's how the exile. Will rise. because there will be new, new possibilities of organizing
the work and
living and, and everything really. and it just takes the, the ability to imagine those, to make them possible because we
have tools that
have never
been available
before.
Right. And so what I'm
hearing you say is. Don't box yourself in. Like
there's probably solutions to things that
we don't know yet. There's,
you know, possibilities everywhere. We
can't
see around the bend as Rick Levine says, we don't know what's coming. And so to really just be open, and to not box yourself in and to not let fear and the noise out there that we were talking about earlier really, contaminate your imagination.
And so if someone's.
If someone's trying
to,
increase their currency, their imagination, or kind of [00:28:00] like,
do you have any tips or ways that
someone can work and hone their imagination in today's
Yeah, I
mean,
curiosity is
always like the very first step in, in stepping outside of a box. You have like the, the worst kind
of box to
be in is one that's really super comfortable.
Yeah.
because
it's, it's easy to say, eh,
I'm not, I'm not gonna bother, you know, I'm, I'm good. And that's, that's like the, you know, the,
the
hero's journey,
like this idea that, that the
first
response usually, and it's a
sane response.
I'm
I'm
good, my box is pretty comfy, you know, I'm I'm all right. And to get but to get outside of any particular box. Oftentimes curiosity is, is the, the catalyst of like, what was that? or, or, and sometimes even boredom,
I
mean, Gemini, I, I,
you know, your honest,
is gonna be in Gemini. And Geminis
are
[00:29:00] some of the most
curious people I've ever met.
You know,
they, they're
curious about literally everything. And that's the problem sometimes with Gemini is like, there's way too much imagination going on, and it needs to be a little more focused. I mean, mutable signs their
their
blessing
is that they're adaptable.
Hmm.
And
that's the whole idea. Like cardinal signs, initiate an idea, fix
signs,
like
get everything together to make it start to happen.
And then the mutable signs go, Hey, wait, I know the plan was X, Y, or Z, but like there's a block, there's a roadblock or whatever. We need to like figure out
another way
around this.
That's
their genius. But then if there's, if the, what happens when the plan's actually working and there's no need to reroute. They get bored and try to make thing, you know,
to make
variety where it's not actually necessary and it becomes like distractions or, or,it becomes an its own kind of noise [00:30:00] actually. So the,
so,
so curiosity
is the way out
of the box, but it's also the way to getting lost if you're, you know, like.
Being able,
like
notice again, like there's Capricorn, which in the tarot is like the devil card, and then there's the tower,
which is
this disruption of this cozy space. I mean, it doesn't actually look that cozy, but you know, they're in chains or whatever. They're sort of stuck there, and then there's this disruption of that, and
then there's the star.
There's this
single guiding. Principle that just catches our awareness and we're like, wow, okay. Like that's becomes the, the organizing principle. And so being curious, but also not allowing yourself to get distracted and, and completely lost. I mean, I realize I'm like kind of, contradicting myself 'cause I told people they're gonna [00:31:00] need to get into the weeds. And the truth is, following a star is not as, it's not like sometimes the fog comes in and
you can't see
it
anymore
you get a little lost in the process. but when we're lost, of course we're gonna be, we're gonna be trying to reorient to that thing that was guiding us.
as you're talking, I'm listening and you know, we're talking a lot about imagination that Neptune, you know, you're talking a lot about curiosity, Uranus moving into Gemini, and then
I think what you're getting at here
too, like the discernment piece of like, let the curiosity lead
you, but. Be discerning
and know like where you wanna go.
That's the Saturn piece,
right? That that's coming in.
So it's actually like a really beautiful mix of it all.
Alright, you guys, we have so many exciting episodes coming up here on the Astrology Hub podcast, and I wanna make sure that you don't miss any of them. Coming up, we have Christopher Renstrom. He'll be sharing his thoughts on the Saturn Neptune conjunction and giving his interpretations for all 12 signs. I cannot wait for that episode. We'll also be welcoming Dr. [00:32:00] Tasman Lee to the podcast for her first time. She's a Daoist metaphysical expert who will be taking us through the lunar New Year themes and what the fire horse could bring to us.
And finally, we're also welcoming Heather Unsworth to the channel who'll be sharing her take on the 2026 Energies. You don't wanna miss any of these episodes, so make sure you're subscribed to the podcast below.
And I'm curious because also during your month we have a
Mercury retrograde. One of
my favorite mantras
for Mercury
retrograde is trust the redirect.
'cause sometimes things happen
and you
just wanna like follow where Mercury's trying
to point you.
And so how
do you see this
Mercury retrograde playing
into like kinda what you're talking about with curiosity and, and the
Yeah. I mean,
so Mercury's gonna be retrograde in the water signs this year and in the early part of the year. That's actually gonna be reinforcing a fair amount of emphasis. I mean, when Neptune goes into Aries,
that means
we'll have two of the outer planets in air and fire like Pluto and Aquarius and Nept. So that's gonna be. [00:33:00] Just the beginning of this shift that happens throughout the year where we get more and more air and fire entering into the picture. So that's just gonna, but that's, but there's still gonna be like Saturn and Jupiter and, and Uranus and Taurus, right?
So there's still
gonna be a dominance of the water and earth. And so with that first one, I think that,I sense
like there's a, there something needs to be finished. but it kind of needs to be stirred up before you can figure out what that, what,
what precisely needs
finishing, what needs to be left behind and what needs to be carried with you. and so the, the shaking things up sometimes is a good way to kind of, you know, cause you know, there might be some stuff that got settled to the bottom that you actually want. There might
be some stuff
floating on the top that you kind of don't want, you know? So if you think about it, like, like when you do a, I mean, I'm looking at,
I've got
a jar of like solar herbs mixed with sunflower oil sitting here in [00:34:00] front of me where the sun comes up. you know, and let's say that
I put a couple gold
nuggets in there to like really infuse the, like, if I wanna get the gold nuggets outta there, I gotta kinda fish through it
and.
And retrieve that.
So
there, there's a
process of
like,
separating the wheat from the
chaff that comes to mind there
of like, okay,
what am I really finished with? And I need to like, honor that and maybe do that grieving ritual that we talked about. and
what
am I actually not finished with and or. What is the, the seed
stuff that
I really like. I am not leaving home without that,
you
know, and kind of letting that process of the shaken up
of the retrograde, you know,
and
the, and the craziness that comes around it help reveal that to you,
trusting
it, that it's purposeful. Yeah.
When I first saw that Mercury was
gonna station
[00:35:00] retrograde in the midst of these eclipses and everything, I was like, Ooh. And then
as I sit with it,
I actually think it,
it's gonna be quite a blessing,
and I'm actually really looking forward to it
because I
think there's still a lot of unfinished business.
There's a lot of unc, you know, lack of clarity. And I always, on the other side of a retrograde feel more clear and more
aligned too. So,
I, I think this
it kind of forces you to be Yeah. 'cause in the midst of the.
it, it forces you outta your comfort zones and kind of makes you think on your feet and, and feel and, and, and discern.
And there's a mystical quality to the water signs that where we might get some kind of knowing. again, we're in the super unknown, we don't know, but that doesn't mean knowing isn't available.
And
the kind
of knowing that
would come through
a water retrograde would be, you know, a non-linear, non non-intellectual.
It would be like a through a dream or through a,a daydream or some kind of mystic, more [00:36:00] mystical quality of like, wow. And then that might be a seed of something that you carry forward of like.
Trying to then
begin to discern is this, knowing, this mystical experience that I had, is this the star that's gonna carry me through? and trusting, synchronicity to kind of, you know, guide you.
It
might be the star that gets you the
next step of the
way. It might be a star that you keep following, you know?
and
The only way to know is just to, you know, try it.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah,
just gotta
try. And that's where this courage, the courage comes in around this time, like,
you know,
have
the courage to, to follow different threads, to try new
things, to accept new ideas.
yeah.
And to not just label it as crazy because it's outside of your comfort zone,
you know? To
be curious and
to be
imaginative enough to be like. There seems to be some [00:37:00] kind of synchronicity with this.
It's, you know, it totally, it's totally, it's like, I don't necessarily understand it yet, there's something about it that feels like it needs attention.
Mm-hmm.
You know, and being imaginative enough to like. Turn it around and look at it from like, there's this process of, it's called
Circumambulation,
where there's one way to get to know a mountain, for instance, is to climb the mountain and to experience it from the peak.
And that's
a very
popular way to get to know a mountain. You can also camp around the mountain at at and, and. Live alongside the mountain from different faces of the mountain,
and you
get to know the mountain in
a whole nother
way, that way.
Mm-hmm.
And it might be that there's certain. Awarenesses that come that are like these mountain peak awareness, like, oh wow, I see everything so differently.
And it might be that there's these other things like that's clearly [00:38:00] something
that's speaking
to me, but you might need to kind of like take your time and circumambulate around it and see it from different sides. And that's where the curiosity in the imagination comes in
of not dismissing something too quickly. You
know, and that goes along with the water and earth emphasis in the early part
of the year. We're
gonna need to be a little more patient
and slow.
Yeah.
Incredible. Gary Inner Circle members, you're
in for
a treat. You're the perfect guide for moment.
Is
there anything else happening during the lunar cycle that you wanted to give a sneak peek
on or.
both of the loo nations, of
course, are
The New Moon and the Full Moon
are are
eclipses. So we're gonna be in that, you know, dragon hole experience. And you know, I was born
there. So,
you
You
were born on
any eclipse?
I
was born in the dragon hole. I was born
between two eclipses.
Oh, wow. Okay.
Yeah.
And, and so, like, it,
it
doesn't
really. It's not
something. And I started [00:39:00] my podcast on an Aquarius New Moon that was an
eclipse. It was also an
inferior conjunction of mercury. So,
and I, and
I wanted to
do it on an inferior conjunction of mercury, like that
Kami moment.
and it just so
happened that it
was also
a north node eclipse and Aquarius. It was right exactly on my ascendant too.
Powerful. Wow.
Yeah.
And I was like, well it's,
it's,
it's the seed moment that I wanted with the mercury, but it's also kind of an eclipse seed moment. And I just was decided to go ahead with it and it was one of the best things I've ever done, you know, and so, but
they are transformative, you know, like that has definitely transformed my life and it transformed my practice. and so. Yeah, I mean, the main thing that I would just is again, like, yes, some trepidation, like eclipses have always had that feeling of trepidation [00:40:00] and,
you know, discernment of like, do
do I
feel safe
enough to really be in this energy?
Or do
I need
to have
some healthy boundaries and maybe. Protect my energy and stuff.
Like that's really an instinctive decision. and all of that is okay, but not, but, unless you have
a clear sense of that, like of,
of like, don't necessarily shy away from it just because of.
You
know, the buzz around like, ooh, eclipse, right? Like, really get that because I've had some wonderful experiences with the eclipses.
Like it's the dragon's head, the Aquarius one is the dragon's head, and so this idea of like, that there's a new energy available to ingest. the other thing to think about there is like, do I have room to bring a guest into my home, let's
say you don't have any room.
A
north note eclipse might actually show up as something [00:41:00] exiting your life.
Why? Because this eclipse says, Hey, I'm coming in
like
maybe even without an invitation. And so something's gotta go. And so
that,
that experience of like, oh wow. something left could
be
experienced as like a loss or,but re but if we think about it just in terms of
the entire
system, like, yeah, okay. Something exited so that
something new can come
in.
Mm-hmm.
And
so, and real Kay was really very
real. Kay. I mean, I've, I've had a lot to deal with, a lot of grief in my life. of the few people that ever really spoke to it in a way that felt seed. Tru seed truth for me was real case's, letters
to a
young poet
and
he, he said that if we had the ability to see beyond our, basically, I'm, I'm rewording it, but like to see beyond our surface [00:42:00] assumptions. If we had the ability to see beyond that,
we
might.
Embrace
our sadnesses more than our joys, because it's in those moments that something enters us.
Hmm.
so he was, he was identifying with what I'm saying, like there's, when we lose something, there's also a door that opens for something new to come in. But we may not we're, because we're still attached and grieving, we may not even be aware that we're,
that we
have a new guest in our home for some time.
Right.
Yeah. Every ending is also a new beginning, and, we know that this too is a perfect time for clearing out
as we approach the, the, Aries.
Equinox, you know, that's
the really the, the
new
Exactly.
So it's kind of, it's all in cosmic order.
It's
all happening for us.
so Gary, you will be teaching a class in the inner circle, for our members, and it'll be on the alchemy of working with the fixed stars and constellations.
Can you tell us a little bit about that class?
Yes. [00:43:00] So this gets back to the topic of my,of my forecast for the year of the
fixed and volatile
and, and
learning to unite the fixed
and the volatile, so planets by nature.
when I learned astrology, I, I was using what's called an ephemeris to cast charts. It's called an ephemeris because the positions of
the planets change
day by day. They're
ephemeral.
So
planets are wandering stars. They're more volatile, they're more, you know, and, and the nature of planets
in, joti
they call them rajas, which means like graspers.
They can
seize you. Like you, the idea of falling in love, we're now, we are grabbed by Venus and we're under the spell of something for a while,
but
it keeps moving and then we can fall out of love and. Whereas the fixed stars are much more stable and constant in their movements. And [00:44:00] so there's like this fixed, nature and there's this volatile nature.
And when you get a planet and a star that have a similar nature, Then
you are
getting a blend of the fixed and the volatile. You're getting a blend of this enduring energy of the star, and you're getting
a blend
of a planet. That's, so, one of the things that's happening in, in that month is we're having, Jupiter will be with two of the brightest stars in
the
sky. Jupiter will be with, Sirius, and which is a, that star is more of the nature of Venus. But there's another star that's below that, and not depending on how far north of the equator you are,
Not
everyone will be able to see this star. but it's called opus. It's like the second brightest star in the sky actually. And that star is more, it's like a ship. It's in the argo, the ship. So it's a Jupiter nature, like long voyages and stuff. and so there's this chance to tune into [00:45:00] Jupiter. While he's visiting with a star of the same nature. And when we get those opportunities of,
of
of a planet and a star, with a, an agreeable natures. Together. That's a really powerful opportunity for alchemy.
Okay, and this seems relevant too because during your month, I believe, do. Will Station direct too. so Incredible. So
yeah.
He's gonna be stationing near a star of the same,
which
is even a whole nother level.
So
for think about this for a moment, he's going to be a little bit more like a star because he's still
oh
Oh
yeah.
So yeah, that's a whole nother level of like, agreement between those.
Wow. Oh my gosh,
Gary, we're
so lucky to
have you and
Inner Circle members get really excited because I know we get requests for classes on fixed stars in stars all
the time, and
Awesome. I love it.
It's a constant request we get.
So, really looking forward to
this.

guides for the time of the, the year or for
the astrology of that time. Mm-hmm.
