With so much collective anxiety brewing…
From escalating global tensions to the personal stressors that keep piling up…
It’s easy to feel like the ground beneath our feet is shifting.
But this lunation is here to remind you:
You are not powerless.
In his New Moon Forecast for the Inner Circle, astrologer and herbalist Cameron Allen shared a simple, profound message:
“Regulating your nervous system is spiritual work. There’s a high likelihood of being overwhelmed this week. But if we can tend to our bodies—especially the heart, lungs, and stomach—we create the conditions for clarity and intuition to guide us forward.”
I know… it might seem too simple.
Too quiet of a response when the world feels so loud, so complex, so out of control.
But this Cancer New Moon invites us into a different kind of strength.
Cancer is the sign of emotional attunement, nurturing, and sensitivity.
It doesn’t ask you to collapse—it asks you to soften. To slow down just enough to feel. And from that feeling place… to choose your response with intention.
Because there is power in softening.
There is courage in slowing down.
And there is real strength in choosing to respond—rather than react—to the world around you.
If you’ve been feeling anxious, on edge, emotionally raw, or just plain exhausted, first of all, you're not alone…
And second, you can use the New Moon as your invitation to begin again.
Cameron reminded us that tending to our nervous system is essential if we want to stay centered, responsive, and rooted in love rather than fear.
When a member asked HOW to tend to the nervous system, he gave these suggestions:
- Alternate Nostril Breathing – This simple yet powerful technique helps calm the mind and bring the left and right hemispheres of the brain into balance. Gently close one nostril with your finger, inhale through the open side, then switch nostrils for the exhale. Repeat slowly and rhythmically for a few minutes to bring your system back into harmony.
- Box Breathing (a.k.a. Square Breathing) – Inhale for a count of 4… hold for 4… exhale for 4… hold again for 4. This steady rhythm signals safety to your body and gently shifts you out of fight-or-flight.
- Putting your hands on your chest and stomach to breathe deeply (try it now and notice how your body and mind soften with this simple practice)
- Noticing which people, places, or media disregulate you—making a list of these things and making a conscious effort to create space from them.
- Practicing gentle movement, sipping warm tea, or spending time in water (especially sacred under a Cancer Moon)
Most importantly… this is a powerful New Moon to set intentions around emotional resilience.
What do you want to commit to over the next month that will help regulate your nervous system… no matter what’s happening in the world?
In addition to Cameron’s guidance, I also found a recent message from our beloved UK-based astrologer Pam Gregory—a longtime friend of the Astrology Hub community—to be especially empowering…
Pam's transmission is a powerful reminder that we are in a type of “rehearsal” right now and how we respond to the content of our lives is of utmost importance…
You can check it out Pam’s video here.
In the meantime, let the recent Solstice be your reminder from the Sun that there is strength in stillness…
And you have the capacity to anchor peace on this planet—starting within.
Wishing you a nurturing New Moon,
Amanda
