Last night my daughters and I celebrated the Equinox with a simple ritual we began a few years ago…
We have a glass “gratitude jar” on the kitchen table with little blank cards next to it. Throughout our days we write things we’re grateful for on the cards and drop them in the jar…
*I got this on Etsy for $20! You can also make them yourself if you’re more of a DIY kinda person 😉
At the two Equinoxes per year, we read the previous season’s gratitude notes together at dinner…
We also talk about the ways we feel both in and out of balance, coming up with ideas for how to even ourselves out, and acknowledging the invitation for balance that the Equinox (aka equal days/nights) AND Libra season brings.
It’s a simple, sweet, astrologically based ritual that serves to keep us anchored in natural rhythm and connected in gratitude.
I share this because using astrology to enrich your daily life can be as simple as this.
As easy as acknowledging the great star (aka the sun) that enables life on earth each morning when you rise, and giving thanks for the day as you watch the sunset each night…
Or appreciating the moon in her dance across the sky as she constantly reminds us of the ever changing ebbs and flows of life…
It can be as light and playful as acknowledging the planets that the days of the week are named after, by wearing something in their favorite color on their day (a quick reference guide for this is in the P.S. below)…
And as elegant as implementing rituals you do at the two Equinoxes and Solstices that mark the changing of seasons…
And the chapters of your life.
Yes, astrology can get infinitely complex, and it offers an endless well of fascinating discoveries…
But the universe often whispers its quiet truths in the smallest gestures, and the still moments in between…
From day to night, and night to day…
… lunar cycle to lunar cycle…
And season to season.
It’s not too late to tune into the shifting season if you haven’t already, and do your own simple ritual to reflect on your last chapter…
And open your heart to the next. 💖
If you do this, I’d love to hear about it. What simple rituals do you do at the changing of the seasons? Simply hit reply to this email and my team will make sure I see your response!
Dropping an infinite amount of gratitude notes in the jar for you…
And hoping you experience a bit of the simple magic and the tiny miracles that surround you now and always.
With love,
Amanda
